Just curious. I grew up 30 minutes from Blacksburg and a lot of my buddies seem pretty confident they'll pull the upset at the Battle at Bristol. Throw out some predictions!

Who?

But seriously, UT shouldn't struggle with a team like VT if they are truly an SEC championship level team

I think most fans are not worried, hopefully the coaches and players are.

They may not be able to score until our defensive 3s get on the field.

Honestly, think it'll be closer than we think. Hope we roll and think we are the better team but with the hype both teams will be ready to play. Hell, they beat tOSU last year

Kirk goes off topic midway late in the 2nd qtr just to have something of relevance to talk about. This game will get ugly--quick.

And Appy St beat Michigan one year. Upsets happen but that's what makes them upsets. If VT had a trend of beating people much better than them then it wouldn't be an upset.

Can they upset us? Sure any given Saturday right? But for them to expect it or think it likely is looney.

As a fan I'm taking VT very lightly and am expecting to see basically the largest Vol party ever and a huge win. I bet the team is taking it seriously though.

Plenty concerned. New coach, big venue, early season game. It's just the kind of game that could pose a trap. Never have seen a VT team that was a patsy. This will be a challenging game for us. I'm glad we are playing it because we can learn a lot from this nonconference game going forward.

I don't think they're going to be a push over by any means. Fuente is a pretty good coach and he seems like a good successor to Beamer. We are more talented on paper and having a mostly pro-UT crowd will help. I think it will be close going into the second half then we'll pull away.

I don't know much about their team to be honest, but they are bringing back 15 starters so that's not insignificant. I don't know how productive those starters were as they had some bad losses last year. But experience always helps an Fuente will have them ready to play.

I worry about all the power 5 teams we play against. On paper we win VT. But we don't play on paper.

Ainge says they will have a very talented QB. I think he is a JC transfer.

I think if we get an early lead and they have to resort to mostly passing, they will be in big trouble. If we allow them to hang around into the second half. I still think we win. But closer than I want to see.
