Is a 10-2 SEC champion good enough for playoffs?

So just hypotheticals here but if we go 10-2 but win the SEC is that good enough for playoffs? What if there were multiple other 0 loss and 1 loss teams that are conference champs?

I think in any other conference no but in SEC possibly yes depending on how hyped you are and how far back you're ranked...

Depends entirely on how the other conferences shake out. An undefeated Ohio State and one-loss Michigan, an undefeated Clemson, a one-loss Washington, an undefeated Baylor, might all get in ahead of a two-loss SEC champ.

Remember, some Power 5 conference gets left out every year. Two conferences have already "had their turn." Even if it's just sub-conscious, that's gotta be weighing on the selection committee. This year, the SEC is slightly down (going by OOC games thus far)...we're still among the two best conferences, but no longer the clear top dog. Given the opportunity to "give the SEC its turn," so that pressure is off them in future years, the Committee just might jump at it, if the SEC champ has 2 losses.

So yeah...it all depends on how the other conferences shake out.

Maybe if the losses were close and Vols kill Bama in the SECCG. Also depends on how other conferences play out.

11-2 SEC Champ or 13-0 Houston. That'd be a tough one, especially because Houston would've beaten Oklahoma and Louisville.

Depends who is undefeated or 1 loss. Clemson, Louisville, Ohio St., Alabama, Michigan, Washington. All of those teams are ahead of us. We would have to beat undefeated Alabama in title game to get to playoffs, IMO. That would make us 11-2.

The rest of the country is jealous and hates the SEC. No way a two loss SEC champion makes the final four over a one loss P-5.

if the other power conferences produced 1 or less loss champions I seriously doubt a 2 loss SEC champion gets in unless its Alabama. Their recent history would likely give them a nod but even that would depend on who was in contention.

Just my opinion

Bring back the BCS...

Nothing against Houston, but their SOS is nothing compared to the SEC champion.

No. Not without help.

You pretty much need almost all 2-3 loss conference champions )and pretty much a drought regarding 1-loss power 5 conference teams).

And a 10-2 SEC team would not get in over an undefeated team from a power 5 conference.

No.The reasonable goal this year was getting to ATL. That's all I'm concerned about. Anything more is icing.

Too many variables to tell, but I will be satisfied with that. Of course, that means we're 11-2 (after adding the SECCG win), looking for a 12th win in the bowl game. That's continued success for CBJ, and always a season to be proud of.

Then again, I may be weird like this, but all I really wanna do is win the SEC. The national title is just icing on that cake, IMO. I wanna be the champion of those teams I have to beat out every year and have those bragging rights. Just me.
