few things at the start of the year:

-Versus is back on DirecTV. thank god somebody got their head out of their ass.

-Will Power wins the first race. and the Pole for the 500. and the 500. and the Championship. his patience last year will payoff for him this year 10 fold. he's the best driver The Captian has. loyalty is always reward at Team Penske.

-Nice to see Andretti Autosport running up front again. would have had two cars in the top 4 but Dan Wheldon had to be his usual idiot self.

-Danica is good for the series. too bad she'll have slightly better luck than her first stint in NASCAR.

-i have a lot of respect for Sarah Fisher. here's to hoping her new partnership with Graham Rahal pays off for both of them.

-Marco Andretti has never met a mistake that was his fault. at least he comes by it naturally.

-we haven't seen the last of Simona De Silvestro. if she leads two more laps, she'll pass Danica's output from last year.

-never hurts to have the series sponsor's car getting some major face time in their first race.

It appears Danica is the least competitive on road courses. It will be interesting to see what transpires on an oval. If Simona continues to show up Danica, will the media hype cool down over Danica, or will the media try to depict them as heated rivals?

I agree that DP isn't competitive on the road courses. I am curious to see how Simona does on the ovals; she seems to be a very good driver, looking at her history.

Is anyone else excited about the the new changes coming up in 2012? I strongly dislike the current setup with just one motor supplier, especially since it's Honda, and one chassis supplier.

not really, but i'll certainly welcome the change. it will, however, end up being the way it is now in several years.

I've noticed this is the second time you've said that you like it the way it is and think all the changes will be useless.

Just wondering why you thought this.

Not trying to be a d bag, just curious.

look at the winning cars from the Indy 500.

the list is filled with 1 car and/or engine package that dominated its era. it's always been this way and it will continue to be this way.

sure it will be interesting but it's nothing to be so overly excited about.
