The back story on this guy must be off the chain juicy. After his Auburn experience, he can't get close to touching a P5 gig somewhere?
He's so far removed from those days I'd say probably nobody is interested. If he was going to sniff P5 jobs again, it would have come within a few years of his firing at Auburn, like in the early 2000s.

Truly an amazing rise and fall Bowden had there - likely would've won the national title in his first season, but was ineligible. Had 2 other great years, 2 pretty good/mediocre years, then was fired midseason after a 1-5 start. That's been how Auburn rolls for long periods of time though - just look at Chizik and Gus's tenures. They are a very volatile program historically.

He was at Akron as Head Coach for several years. Obviously not P5, but he did have other opportunities. He was pretty crap at Akron, though.

In hindsight, his hire at Auburn seems like our hire of Derek Dooley; he got hired for his last name; not his track record. Unlike Derek Dooley, however, he inherited a national title level team (albeit on probation) and took a few years to knock the program down, whereas Dooley already inherited a program in bad shape.

He would have been better served to stay at UNA instead of going to Akron.

Before my time so I don't know details, but the crazy thing about Terry Bowden is that whatever team he inherited might have been really talented but was quite mediocre on the field and the program was on probation. Dye's last 3 seasons went 8-3-1, 5-6, and 5-5-1. Then all of a sudden he goes undefeated in his first year.
