Ryan Callahan. Again, UT ground game gets nowhere vs. Florida - Nashville, Tennessee - Sunday, 09/16/07 - Tennessean.com
DAVID CUTCLIFFE
"We just didn't get them blocked," UT offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe said. "I've got to look at that — look at the scheme, look at where we were. We felt like we had a good plan going in. They pressured it a little bit but we still had opportunities.
JOSH MCNEIL
"To start the game, they were doing some things that just really hurt the run game," UT center Josh McNeil said. "Twisting, moving — they were doing a whole lot of things that really upset our run game. We didn't execute. They did their job, and we didn't."
RAMONE FOSTER
"We were planning on running the ball today," UT offensive tackle Ramon Foster said. "Florida was just really good at stopping the run.
These are the types of comments that are so common from our camp after we play "surprisingly poorly." Cutcliife seemed surprised by what Florida did. McNeil attributed our lack of a ground game to Florida's scheme.
That's sort of been my frustration with our OL and team in particular over the years. It doesn't matter how good your players are when they don't who to block, or if they're at a disadvantage because of schemes. Moreover, they did nothing to correct it over the course of 4 quarters.
