not trying to be a jerk, but it's pretty normal not only for there to be multiple interviews but also some smokescreen during these interview processes

I totally agree, just another name that has popped up on the Marquette radar. It might not mean anything.

We're experts on the interpretation of smokescreens here on VN.

Now that is funny and you are right on with this observation. Have we identified their planes flight plan yet? BTW on a serious note glad to see Michigan bite the dust. They tried that flop crap a bunch today and don't recall any charges when that happened. That means in my mind the ref's conferred and decided that they were not going to be part of the story. Day late and a dollar short damn it.

Yeah but he is praying to be the head coach in waiting at Duke.

That opp. could still be there. It will br 5 years. Would be good to have HC exp. Collins and Dawkins may be up for that job too and they have gotten out of K's shadow. Marquette would be a superb job for a career asst. Bobby Hurley may also start climbing the ranks.

He may be doing just that. Coack K is getting some age on him.

I'm skeptical that a program as prestigious as Duke would hire a man with 0 years of HC experience, regardless of ties to the university.

Wojo would be competing with Dawkins and Collins for that spot. Seems like he would need some head coaching on his resume. Same thing happened to Martin at Purdue. He was the assistant head coach, but Purdue went with Painter because he had head coaching experience.

Does Marquette take a chance on such a coach? Seems like HC experience would be fairly important to them.

Exactly. If you're Duke, do you pursue a guy like Collins who has HC experience say has been to a few dances and much more accomplished? Or do you go with an assistant who hasn't coached a single game?

I don't think it's a tough decision, I think Wojo has to coach somewhere else before he has a chance at the Duke job.

I doubt it. How often do you see assistants get jobs at major schools? Just about all work their way up through the low/mid-majors.

That is assuming Duke doesn't just hire the best available coach or lure away a big name

There was an article on ESPN.Com that quoted Coach K saying he wanted to coach 5 more years. Wojo would be foolish to turn Marquette down.....IMO

Coack K is 67 , that is old for the schedule a HC at a major college has to keep.

I agree, unless Duke names him head coach in waiting which is unlikely, he would be crazy to turn down the Marquette job if offered. I do not think they will offer him.. I still think Martin will be named the HC at Marquette Tuesday or Wednesday.

Is your CCM prediction just your opinion or have you heard that there is something concrete going on?
