TLDR version Tennessee is tied for 17tg with 5 other states at 4. 152 of 300 come from 4 States Texas, Florida, Georgia and California in that order.

Been that way for years. FL, TX, an CA make sense considering they are also 3 of the most populated states.

I guess NY just doesn’t value football much at the HS level.

No, they don’t🙀. When I moved up there and taught in early 2000s I was shocked they played on weekdays right after school. No Friday Night Lights for them !!

Out of the top 10 on that list we got 2 of the states' #1 ranked recruits. We also kept the top 2 in TN at home.

Most D1 level talent comes from the South. CA is like the exception and half of theirs is south CA lol. Football is just more popular in the South as up north they have weird ice based sports to distract them.

I found out the ole' fashioned way, from the older kids on the school bus.

Just like Jesus intended kids learn about it!!
