INSIDE THEIR VISITS

ALABAMA
Barrett Jones, C/OT, Evangelical Christian (Cordova)
n Committed: Nov. 6, 2007
n Official visit: Jan. 11-13, 2008
n What happened: "We had dinner (Friday) in the president's box at the stadium," Jones said. "The next day we went to Coach (Nick) Saban's for breakfast … it was like a buffet … waffles, pancakes, omelets. They had a crew of like 10 people serving you. Then we rode (some brand of ATVs) behind his house. We had dinner at a nice steakhouse. They said to order whatever you wanted. I didn't hold back. I got the porterhouse. They ordered all the appetizers and desserts and just put them on the table for you. Then we went to some player's house and a sorority party."
KENTUCKY
William Johnson, ATH, Pearl-Cohn
n Committed: Dec. 22, 2007
n Official visit: Jan. 11-13, 2008
n What happened: "Friday we checked into a hotel, had a meeting with the coaches, met our host, ate dinner, and our host took us out and showed us around a little. Saturday we toured the campus and they told us about some history of the school. We ate lunch and came back for a tour of the weight room and medical room. They took us to the stadium and we got to go to the locker room. That night we had dinner at the hotel where the team stays on Friday before games … to keep away from distractions on campus. Sunday we went to Coach (Rich) Brooks' house, ate breakfast and played a little pool and ping-pong."
MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE
Travis Lilienthal, C, Riverdale
n Committed: Oct. 9, 2007
n Unofficial visit: Oct. 6, 2007
n What happened: "You get there a few hours before the (Virginia) game, sign in, meet the coaches and talk with them. Then everybody meets, and Coach (Rick) Stockstill talks. Then they take you around to the weight room, all the indoor facilities and tell you as much as they're allowed about the school. Then they let you go on the sideline before the game starts. I just really like the coaches there out of all the schools I've been to. I like Coach (Jimmy Ray) Stephens, and Coach Stockstill seems like a great guy. That was the main thing."
TENNESSEE
Rodriguez Wilks, WR, Smyrna
n Committed: Sept. 19, 2007
n Official visit: Jan. 18-20, 2008
n What happened: "I got up there Friday and we had a sit-down (with coaches). After that you go and register at a hotel … and go to a restaurant. There you meet your hostess, the coaches and their wives and any of their kids. The players take you out after that and you get to go around and have some fun. Curfew is at 1 a.m. On Saturday, we go out for breakfast before they show you around. We went to the Ohio State (men's basketball) game. That night we had dinner with the coaches in the press box at the stadium. Then you go out with the players again. On Sunday, we went to (Coach Phillip) Fulmer's house and had breakfast: eggs, bacon, biscuits. He has a UT building in his backyard where he has a pool table, a couple of plaques and pictures."
VANDERBILT
DeAndre Jones, LB, Memphis University School
n Committed: Jan. 10, 2008
n Official visit: Jan. 11-13, 2008
n What happened: "We started off hanging with our hosts, ate dinner at the school and after that went to Opry Mills and played some games at Dave & Buster's. I got to play against Coach (Bruce) Fowler and Coach (Warren) Belin. It was some racing game. I couldn't beat Coach Fowler, but I got Coach Belin one time. The next day was our campus visit. I was very impressed, especially the new dorms freshmen get to stay in. I also got to visit with the dean of engineering. Later that night we went downtown, mostly riding around and watching the Patriots-Jaguars game. The next day we got to talk to Coach (Bobby) Johnson a little bit."
