I just read the article in the "football time" in tennessee mag that just came out, and there is an unbelievable article in there about Inky Johnson. I think everyone should definately try and read this article. Something for Inky needs to be done. We need to have a day to honor him for being such a trooper. He is the epitome of a true Volunteer..!

Give us the highlights

it basically just talks about how he will be lucky to move his arm again and everything he's overcome. It says how he will graduate in 3 1/2 years and how he had to learn how to right all over again with is left hand. There is more but go pick up the mag and read it.. its worth the 7 bucks just for the inky article.

The Vol Network also did a spotlight on Inky for the Inside the Orange show back in the Spring. It showed that Inky was still very involved in the program.

I don't know about retiring the number. If you think about it, what makes Inky any different than any other Vol who suffered a catastrophic injury?

Of course, I don't think that 16, 91, and 92 should be retired either. If they simply don't issue those numbers then that's fine, but I was a big fan of the only four actual retired numbers belonging to Vols who gave their lives in WWII.
