I remember over the past couple of years the turf at Neyland taking a beating even to the point of opposing teams trying to use it against us in recruiting. The field looks better this year but wasn't Cam, Sapp and Kirkland all injured because of slipping/sliding on the turf? Weren't they all injured at Neyland?

We aren't recruiting injured players. Some players seem to be more injury prone than others and there's just bad luck.

Shouldn't just googled my question. Found my answer.

Article from last year as they continue to address the turf.

"Another source said the field has been so treacherous and slippery, UT has taken plays out of the playbook for fear they can’t execute them on a subpar surface.

Also, I’m told, that a slippery surface can lead to more muscle strains and ankle injuries."

I have been told a lot of things which anyone with a brain would realize has no truth to it. In fact, on these type words, I tend to believe 75-80% of the stuff posted is inaccurate or trolling. The turf is fine and causes fewer injuries than artificial turf.

We just need to put in turf
Other SEC teams are taking turf out. Kirkland hurt his ankle on turf. Sutton and JRM have leg/shoulder injuries and slippery grass cause ankle injuries. It wouldn't have prevented any of these necessarily.

Your last sentence was all that was needed. Appreciate the input.

Gotcha, thanks.

Ummmm....no. Kirkland was injured at Bristol. While you're at it, how about blaming JRM's shoulder injury on it while you're at it.

Btw.....what gives with the title of your thread? Doesn't exactly match what seems to be the point you're trying to make.

Listen, it's game day and kickoff at that. I simply asked a question regarding our turf and that I thought I'd heard coaches were using how bad it was (see article from last year) against us in recruiting. It was a simple question. No blame being placed or conspiracy being conjured. A simple question. Several have answered my question and others have been jerks about it. It's your choice which you will be.

Think I've already shown I prefer to be a jerk on this one. 😁
