PLEASE PLEAsE Dear GOD, NO DAY GAMES IN NEYLAND IN SEPTEMBER>>> TOO DAMN HOT< NO ATMOSPHERE< .. And if you live in Middle or Western Tenn, you have to leave at 5 in the morning... Fans should, ask, plea, demand, revolt for night games that time of year.. Nighttime in Neyland is special, and the atmosphere helps recruiting... plus its not 112 degrees in the stands

BOTH WILL BE HIGH NOON AZZ KICKING TIME IN TENNESSEE.:bottom:We are Tennesseee we kick azz at noon or 5.00 pm look like it would be better to get the azz kicking out of the way so i would say noon on both games:).

If they didn't object to the terms of the TV contracts then they've accommodated the TV people. TN absolutely has a say in the matter and what they should say is it's too ****ing hot for our fans to sit through noon kick offs in August and early September. Joe Paterno said it was too hot and installing lights at Neyland Stadium was the result.

They'd both be SECN (or Indiana State's case, possibly the alternate channel because of the large cluster of SEC vs non-SEC teams with how early it is in the season).

I wouldn't expect ESPNU.

You can argue with me about it all you want, but the networks set the times, the schools do not have an influence on the decision. If ESPN or the SEC network wants a game to start at noon, Tennessee has no standing to say otherwise.

Under the last TV contract, there could be as many as 5 SEC games at night each week. There was one noon game, one 330 game, and the rest were at night. The last year of the previous contract, our fans complained that virtually every game was at night.

In response to that, as part of the negotiations, Tennessee was one of the schools the pushed for additional afternoon kick off times. Out of that discussion, the 4 o'clock window on the SEC network was created, when previously a game could not start at that time due to the CBS contract.

So TN pushed for, and got, an additional 4pm kick off instead of a later one. They could also push for no noon starts before mid-September.

It was more than just UT.

Also worth note: that 4pm timeslot is essentially given to the last (i.e. likely worst or least watched) game with an SEC team that week.

None of that negates my original comment. Early September, noon kick-offs suck. The administrators don't give two ****s about the fans.

Haha no. I wish him the best but I'm done with him. My post was just shade at having to have a hero against a majorly inferior opponent. We can't resort to that if the VOLS are going to have a great season.:hi:

I think part of the delimma is some school has to take that time slot. If UT says it's hot in September then geographically where would they get the noon host. Only Missouri and Kentucky are north of Tennessee. All the rest of SEC stadiums will be blazing.

Yes, they should consider fans in attendance more than those watching on TV. The ones that are actually there have given more to support the team. Unfortunately, our single ticket (or a dozen for that matter) is not program changing money. Signing win ESPN for a billion dollars, that is conference altering money right there.

Moral of the story is: more money to be made in TV, so they get priority. sucks, but it is how it works. Imagine if you lived on the west coast and rooted for an east coast school, might be a 9 am kickoff. Imagine if you lived east coast and had to stay up until three a.m. to watch your team? Can't please everybody anyway, so might as well make the money while he sunlight shines.
