I go to IU and this is very sad. He was turning IU football around. My prayers go out to his family friends and team.

Hey there, I'm about 45 minutes west of you near Brazil. I personaly can't stand anything IU but I liked Coach Hep. He was really getting IU fans excited about the program. Very sad.

Not only have two Big Ten football coaches died around the same time, they were also at the helm of potentially creating a renaissance period for their programs. Coach Walker and Hep are both sorely missed by all of college football.

Hoeppner had really infused some enthusiasm into that program. Hopefully, Bill Lynch, another really good guy, can keep that going this year.

my dad (an IU alumn) commented to me about 2 months ago that he hasn't been this excited for an IU football season since Bill Mallory left.

truely a sad day for not only the IU community, but the Miami community as well.

Bill Mallory-One of the great, underrated coaches of the last 25 years.
