Just one of many!

That blatant facemask which was the only way the defender prevented a touchdown on this play was illegal and dangerous enough that it could have caused an injury. I want whoever was in charge to be held accountable for failing to execute the job they were paid to do because their neglect put the health and safety of our student athletes at risk.

It is inexcusable. Let them watch their own son's neck wrung by the facemask and pulled all the way to the ground without a whistle if they want, but not our young men.

There is simply no excuse and an apology should be made at the very least.

I couldn't tell if it was a face mask or horse collar but something definitely didn't seem right. Then we never got a replay because we were in a hurry up situation

every official is being paid by alapansies. Whether they are playing or not, they all get paid by the crimson money pigs.

Numerous holds not called that were in plain sight and of course the block in the back on Gaulden.

They missed calls on both sides and didnt favor a team. They "let them play ", something most of us complain about when they call too much.

A dangerous play doesn't automatically become safe just because a flag gets thrown. Thankfully Calloway wasn't hurt, but if he had been he wouldn't have been magically healed by a 15 yard penalty.

Let them play doesn't apply when the it involves any player's safety. But refs aren't perfect... I don't want every play to be reviewed. They're always going to miss some calls.

The face mask was blatant and really didn't like how hard he jerked Calloway's head around. There was a replay after the touchdown and the ref was staring right at them. Maybe the hair obstructed it some.
But with the visible block in the back that had Butch irate and several non calls for motion on their offense, I thought they didn't do a very good job at all.

A couple of times during the game the GT OL were actually tackling, I mean arms wrapped around the ankles of defensive players, no hankies fell.

The thing that bothered me was the fact that GT had players in the backfield moving toward the line of scrimmage illegally all game long. One guy goes in motion and then the fullback or another back was almost always moving forward slightly before the snap.

This is what I was referring to

Right and no one argued that it would become safe if it was called as it is their job to do, but at least there would be the enforcement of a penalty in place to discourage that kind of play. The more it's not called, the more players will attempt to get away with it and the more chances for injury.

To be clear, no one but you suggested anything about magic healings or dangerous plays automatically becoming safe. It seems that's some kind of strawman fallacy. Nevertheless, the refs blew what absolutely should have been called.

Refs are even worse in the collegiate ranks. just an unfortunate fact of life.

I also think several targeting call should have been made against GT. The rule says that the player cannot project at a defenseless player. I haven't went back and looked, but several was very close. Including the hit on Jennings.

I know some of GT's so called blocks looked like clips but they did it all night so i guess not. They get awful low , all of them. Some obvious holding on a few plays but they always miss those.

You suggested that refs were putting players at risk. That is nonsense.

The hit on Jennings wasnt close; I watched a bunch of games Saturday and that hit would have cause an ejection in most! Its been awhile since i have seen a b1g officiating crew, now i know why OSU and Mich get away with so much!

Yes, he did which is not nonsense but sensible. Well as sensible as any penalty can be considering they are all after the fact. No penalty protects the player but is intended to deter unsafe behavior. The refs missed that call and the J.J. targeting call. Thankfully no one was hurt and for GT sake penalized.

Refs were not good and probably missed calls on both sides but these are safety concerns.

Usually B1G referee crews tend to be pretty good. I guess the B1G looked at who their worst ones were and sent them to Atlanta.

Anytime I se a Big Ten crew and an SEC team on the field, I am pretty certain that the bias will show.
