FOX Sports on MSN - NFL -

During an on-air conversation Monday about the arrests of suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, Imus asked, "What color is he?"
Told by sports announcer Warner Wolf that Jones is "African-American," Imus responded: "There you go. Now we know."
Civil rights leader Al Sharpton issued a statement calling the exchange disturbing "because it plays into stereotypes." He says his National Action Network was still deciding how to respond.
Imus was fired from his previous show last year after he made a racially charged comment about the Rutgers women's basketball team. Representatives for Imus and WABC Radio haven't returned calls.

Thoughts?

Fire him so he can't use radio to make himself more money just for being racist.

It's a fireable comment either way.

anything that angers Sharpton is worth it in my book. The same thing that protects Sharpton is the same thing that should protect Imus (and no I don't mean stupidity)

There's only one logical and beneficial solution to this issue.

Imus and Sharpton should fight to the death.

I would imagine that the right to not be offended wouldn't need to be outlined. If not being offended is a crime, I am screwed.

I don't see it as a constitutional issue. The network certainly has the right to get rid of him for making them look bad. Then again, any network stupid enough to put this guy back on the air is probably getting what they deserve.

Give me a break. I think they need to leave Imus alone. There are far worse racist in the world than him.

 I'm glad Al was offended. His hair offends me therefore he needs to be fired.

You've got this all wrong, PJ. Free speech applies only to Democrats.

I thought Imus' explanation -- that he was just commenting about racial profiling -- was pretty lame. I don't believe that for one minute.

Imus had done so many drugs over the years that he doesn't know where he is half of the time, much less what he's saying. This is just more air time for Sharpton.
