As much as the offense has been getting the praise, and rightly so, the defense and defensive coaches have done an excellent job. The players have been playing with that controlled rage and passion while maintaining their position discipline. The coaches have been great at in game/halftime adjustments so far. It's nice to see. Also, the Offense and Defense seem to really feed off each other.

We've all seen one or the other play well/great while the other seems to lag and hold us back. This year so far, both been a pleasant surprise once they started feeling comfortable with the new system.

Hopefully it continues and we have a 7-5 season. Would be a great season with everything that happened in the off-season and all the transfers etc. If we did go 7-5, Heupel would have to be considered for coach of the year in the SEC.

7-5 and coach of the year normally doesn't do it for me, but being down 14 scholarship players and the weekly improvements would make a strong case for it.
That said, bowl game or bust. Win this game and 6 wins almost, almost, guaranteed.
That's why I was saying he should be considered. All the off-season issues and the lack of scholarship players, it would be a magnificent job.

This offense is far from a complete product.
I don't care what the stats say, if we can't convert on 3rd down in critical situations than it will come back to bite you!

Running Ty Evans into the ground and exposing the QB to too many hits.

USE THE WHOLE FIELD HEUPEL!!

Been a long time since we have had a D we can turn the game over too. We might not have the depth yet but dammit we are sure building some depth. Cudo's to the younguns who have stepped up. The D gets my gold ball today!!

Considering the amount of time the defense has spent on the field thus far, they have been solid.

Impressive considering we had 6 defensive players out. Somebody knows how to develop players.

Defense played with 6 or 7 guys out today. Depth took a hit. Other than another special teams blunder, they hold a SEC team to 2 TDs. Pretty good.

NOBODY showed up in the second half!!!

They came out of the locker room a little flat, considering 2nd week in a row of routing the opponent in the first half. They made the plays when it counted later in the 4th and tightened up.
