I loved watching him bounce around after making plays and pointing to the sky. Just a great player to watch.

agreed. Remember watching him a couple years ago when he was just on kickoff team and thinking how hard he was going after it and always getting his hat to the football.

We have 3 tacklers:

Eric Berry
Nick Reviez
Lamarcus Thompson

These are the only consistent names that have come up in the first 2 weeks.

Rico McCoy is a hitter as well.....solid both weeks but has not had a monster game yet

He is the real deal. He is the same size as Georgia's Rennie Curran, but I would take Reveiz all day long. Reminds me of Dale Jones. Nice kid too. Spoke to my son at the O&W game year before last about Spider Man and UT football. Very respectful and well spoken.

I love that He hustles and has great heart and a great motor but he is not a difference maker at MLB. there were several times where he couldnt get off blocks and get to spots in coverage and outside to make tackles. we are supremely shorthanded at LB. and his and Lamarcus spots are the glaring weaknesses. Reveiz couldn't start at MLB at any other school in the SEC.

are you saying you would take Reveiz over rennie Curran all day long? hopefully not

He's getting coached by one of the best NFL defensive minds of all-time and he's playing the most important position in that defense. He will get drafted, IMO. Won't be until round 5-7, but he will get drafted. Kind of funny that a walk-on is starting over all that supposed talent we had under Fulmer and Chavis.

He has a lot working against him that Monte can't address.

If his height causes him not to be drafted, then his heart should at least get him 3rd round consideration. If Clay Matthews can be a draft pick, then so can Nick.

U still drunk from last nite? Clay Matthews has NFL height/weight/speed (6'3/240/4.6 40) and plays Rush DE/OLB.
Reviez is 0 for 3 on that list. Lemme give u a lil perspective, Jasper Brinkley is 6'1 255 lbs. and was a Beast at MLB in the SEC, he went in the 5th round

I watched the game again on ESPN360 afterwards and I specifically watched Reveiz, Janzen Jackson, and a few others.

Reveiz was TERRIBLE overall. I have him with 5 blown coverages in a game where UCLA only attempted 23 passes. He couldn't cover a big lumbering TE (Paulsen) or UCLA's FB at all. He's 5'8 and not fast. Can he tackle if he's in the immediate vicinity of the ball carrier? Yes. But he better be able to.

The only reason that I can think he is playing is that he has a better grasp of the defensive concept than Frazier/Lathers/Thompson or whomever else is the official 2nd string MLB. Being 'smarter' than more athletic will get your team spanked in the SEC though. Reveiz will be a big glaring mistake in the UF game when he has to try to corral Demps and/or James.

Matthews is about 6'3" and 240 pounds and is pretty damn good athlete. Reveiz is maybe 5'9" and maybe 220 pounds. Matthews has the measurables, had a good combine and produced in college at a high level. Reveiz has awful measurables and wouldn't put up near the numbers at the combine, other than bench, that Matthews did.

Just because they were both former walk ons, doesn't mean their stories are the same. Mathews has an NFL body and athleticism. Reveiz doesn't.

Note: Reveiz is absolutely my favorite player on this team, but saying he will get drafted is foolish.
