IMO Huepel’s coaching in 2026 to save a job…

As long as the main 2 programs are winning, football and men's basketball, DW is safe.
Yep, the rest are either break even or money losers and didn't use to matter about money but it is not fun and games anymore, its a business.

Hype does not look good in his latest photos. Is the pressure getting to him? He needs to hire his own S&C coach to get him in shape

This to me is fringe-talk. That said, the way Dr Danny works to get a Coach Caldwell replacement at the end of next year (if she has a winning record and makes NCAAT she would be legit SEC COY), and how he handles a potential Coach Barnes replacement will tell the tale.
What would you bet Bruce Pearl would come out of retirement to coach at RT again?

You’re forgetting kicking our fannies kicked pretty much across the board in major sports by Vandy as well.
Wake up, sleepyhead. Vandy has alot of money & they’re spending it. Let’s see if it’s a consistent occurrence before we build the gallows.

No way White’s job is in jeopardy. Thats definitely not happening. Although it’s important,White’s job is to make money more than winning championships
Fans whine about the price increase for tickets, but Danny White is regarded as one of if not the best AD in the country.
His seat is as cold as it gets.

Danny White’s, that is.

One program is in total disarray and another looks to be not far behind—both coached by hires White made.

I don’t think Rick Barnes can save White since he not a DW hire, but Heupel is and the AD’s tenure here may be riding on a successful season.
ehhhh i dont think so tbh---hes doing the number 1 thing all schools wont say outloud with thier words but do with their actions: increasing shareholder value. Danny is a walking MBA and he even talks like one.

New Plan:
1. Let Barnes retire
2. Fire Caldwell and Elander
3. Pour every drop of NIL into Heupel
4. Build a championship football program and let the cash pour in for a few years
5. Revisit the other sports at a later date

Heupel has NEVER been the long term answer. Pretty evident after a couple seasons. Who you guys wanting to replace him with is the better question. I don't love Heupel, but there's not a ton of others available I like more either...

He’s just overweight James Franklin and I hate it

If the Athletic Department continues to make substantial profit, his job will be fine for a few more years. The table below shows the total revenue/expenses for football, men's basketball, and women's basketball. I think Danny White was hired in FY 2021. A $78.9mil profit in those sports for FY25 compared to 2018's $40.4mil is substantial.

When a business person looks at these numbers and who is also a VOL fan, He/she should begin to wonder what the investment they are making into tickets, travel, team paraphernalia, scalper tickets, food and drink concessions, time lost, opportunity costs for doing other things, etc, etc,. The fan should look at the numbers and say , HEY GREAT....the athletic dept is doing great with anywhere from a 6.6% growth in net profit to over 10% profit in recent years. However, what has the fan received in the last few years? Yes, all winning teams. We should expect and get all winning teams with a high winning percentage. But has the fan really received a better product during that same time? With the NIL craziness, transfer portal idiocy, ticket prices having gone to the moon, etc, what has the fan got out of this mess. I say the FAN has got the SHAFT in the time of all this since the athlete has now realized basically becoming a PRO. Is the fan going to keep putting up with getting this treatment while not seeing anywhere near an INCREASE in the win record for their team. I say NOT!! I say the fan, the smart fan anyway, will see that if this way of running college athletics continues, the FAN, will not continue supporting this method and reality of their bottom line of investment of their time and money. Many don't see it now, but College athletics will either change, or more importantly see their fan base leave in droves, if it doesn't change for the better and especially for the fan!!! You don't have to believe me. Just look at NASCAR over the last 10-15 years, and the empty venues of track owners. They learned that FANS are important and changed their way. NASCAR is coming back big time. College football and basketball should heed the warning signs.......NOW!

It’s interesting . I’m not calling for any jobs to be clear….

But baseball was fun in a “I’d leave that **** to Fresno state every year if we could win in Football or basketball.”

We’ve seen success in both football and basketball, but we were never close to winning squat . We got curb stomped by Michigan this year and curb stomped the last few years. We got curb stomped in the college football playoff.

I think we are focusing attention on too much nonsense. We don’t have the money to be elite in every sport. Let’s go football and leave basketball and baseball to the schools that can play football.
And Michigan then proceeded to dismantle the team almost everyone expected to win it all. I truly loathe NIL and the portal. IT has destroyed College sports and corrupted even more of the fanbase's minds. That whole love of money thing.

The problem with that is that all the teams can't win. Teams are going to have ups and downs and you're either a fan or not.

If you're only a fair weather fan, good luck because even hardcore "blue blood" programs like Ohio State or Alabama have gone through years of dry spells.

Sure, college football is expensive but everything in the entertainment industry is expensive: TV/movie channel packages, Disney, beachfront rentals, etc and little changes at most beaches or TV or theme parks..... except the price.

What are you going to do with your Saturday instead?

What programs are in complete disarray?
I'd say women's basketball qualifies for total disarray at the moment. 2 assistant coaches gone, pretty much the entire team entering the transfer portal and our top recruit asked out of her commitment. It's not a death knell for the AD by any means, but unless something miraculous happens next year it's gonna be a huge black eye.

If it’s necessary to replace CJH next two seasons, DW MUST GO ALSO! I absolutely do not want him involved in hiring any more coaches!!!!

They just brought a top defensive mind and top tier strength coach to go with what I consider a top tier offensive minded coach. Recruiting has been good as well. It would be crazy imo to not give them at least two years to meld no matter what the record is this year. Also, the nil needs to be fixed, when they are playing schools paying 50% more in nil against the rules, it’s hard to hold that against the coach until the situation is fixed.
