Ooh boy! There would've been a riot on Rocky Top. If that had happened I would've seriously feared for Fulmer's life trying to get out of that stadium.

I think we would have beaten Wyoming had he not been fired last week. It was still the right decision by MH though.

If he hadn't been forced to step down before, he most certainly would have after.

Of course, one can make the argument that had Fulmer not been forced out, the Vols would have beat Wyoming because they only mailed it in with the loss of their coach. One could make that argument indeed, but to me it just proves that he lost his grip on this team many games ago.

Remember UF players talking about UT's players quitting during the '07 game?

Bottom line is he is gone and hopefully his replacement can get the Vols back on the right track.

Not sure if Hamy should have waited........then canned Phil at the end of the season, and hired someone else within a week, that way the recruits would be too confused to decommit!! hahah...

I have no doubt we beat Wyoming without the announcement. I've never seen a crowd or team so lifeless. As to the right decision, you can still find a lot of fans who disagree. Fox news poll said 80% think Tn made a mistake.

I still think we would have lost. This team, mainly the offense, played pretty much the way they've played all year.

We would have beat Wyoming if Fulmer had not been fired before the game. We probably would not have done it convincingly, but we would have won. No matter if the players would have been in favor or against the firing, something such as that affects your preparation in a negative way for at least a week or so.

The offense is horrible.

Being "sad" about your coach being fired doesn't make you block better or the QBs see open receivers.

I don't know. I've been through a similar situation where a very popular (to her staff anyway) VP was forced to resign, and it did affect performance of that staff in a negative way for a couple of weeks. They came around after a while, but it was not within the first week.

What Tennessee played like last Saturday was consistent to how they have played all year.

They did not look any worse or any better than they did against Auburn, Alabama, or Florida.

We aren't Bammer or LSU fans by any stretch

I've heard reports, prior to his announcement, that there were folks who dumped trash on his lawn, threw bricks and rocks at his house, egged his house, etc ... wouldn't surprise me a bit

Yes, but they looked worse than they did at UAB and NIU. I think Wyoming compares more to these two teams than the likes of Auburn, ALabama, and FL. (I do think they looked worse than they did in the Auburn game though.)

Justin, do you think Wyoming is better or worse than UAB? We handled UAB fairly easily even if we didn't play well and their offense looked way better than Wyoming. Is Wyoming's D that much better than UAB's or has our offense regressed that much?

What was that, a sample of Fulmer relatives?

I've got to give you props for both the sentiment of the post and the rephrasing. :whistling:
