Seriously,
The guy has ruffled my feathers alot with the lack of discipline and on and on and on. BUT, he IS the University of Tennessee and will go 7 and 5 and win a bowl game. So, you gonna let him go after that? NO WAY. I am beginning to waiver on my wanting a new head coach.

You're obviously a youngster.

Sorry but no.

2005 was only 3 short years ago. I defended the idea that he should be given the opportunity to finish the turnaround and was called a fulmerite or whatever for my trouble. I still think that was the right thing to do... but he has now failed to meet a reasonable standard. He's not even close.

His methods simply haven't worked. The risk to the program of keeping him now exceeds the risk of replacing him... and that risk is still significant.

You are right to be concerned. UT's first replacement has to be a home run or the program won't be competitive for many years. However, W's and L's will translate into recruiting if it hasn't already. Other coaches are proving you can win AND get talented fr/sophs on the field. There's very little chance more time will result in anything but a continued decline with occasional spikes.

Fulmer's not the problem. The problem with the program is that effing Dan Brooks wears his cap backwards during games. I mean, seriously, there's not a team in the country that could win under those conditions.
you are the man Jay!

Maybe you, Kenneth, IP and a few others could start a support group.

Not quite a youngster. I remember Johnson being the first recruit of the Bengals, remember Archie whipping up on the vols, loving to watch an old Fed Ex pilot run the ball, seeing Stanley Morgan, and on and on. I have been to alot of games, been to more buildings than the UC and stadium. I am frustrated but if Fulmer can get a grip on discipline and boost the offense all will be OK. Can you expect a coach to leave after winning a bowl game? Look at Nebraska.

You're obviously a youngster.

Surely you jest.

Fulmer absolutely is NOT the University of Tennessee. He didn't make the program what it is (cf. Joe Paterno and Penn State), he returned it to its rightful position among elite programs (until 2002).

Now that he's lost it, someone else must do it again.
