I am not bowing down to anyone or kissing anyone's ass but I do want to say that I am sorry for my negavol Kiffin posts. I am just a little bitter and pissed off still about the way Fulmer was handled and all but ya know, to look on the bright side especially with his recruiting talent at USC and offensive work at USC, I say give the man a chance and he just might possibly soar and exceed expectations. I am now truly behind Kiffin 100 percent and again sorry for the bitterness, it's just that Fulmer is the only coach seriously I have ever known, it's kinda like for example what Eric Berry had said in a press conference, it's like some part of you is just being taken away, like somebody died or something, but I agree it is time to move on and see what Kiffin and his staff can do. Go Vols and sorry again fellas, time to stop being so negative and start being positive and looking forward to winning seasons. Maybe the NFL just wasn't a good fit for Kiffin, I believe he may be one of those guys where the college game is where his heart lies.

I too will miss Fulmer deeply and it is a sad day, but at the same time I feel excited with Kiffin and the possible coaching staff and recruits we can potentially put together. Go Vols!

I understand the way you feel, I also feel the whole "resignation" was handled poorly, but it is time for a change. Hopefully Coach Kiffin will bring us back to contender status.

It seems to me that the majority of the Fulmer diehards are youngsters that only remember UT football under Fulmer. Believe it or not, UT Football DID exist prior to Phil Fulmer.

It is what it is. You owe no apology.

Fulmer will go down as a legend, to be sure. We have been blessed to have a Tennessee guy for a long time, something that happens less and less these days.

I have likewise been critical of the Kiffin hire, but at this point, he's our coach and its time to start looking forward to next year.

Wear your avatar with pride!

Thats what the board is for Brother. State your feelings I Loved Fulmer but finally this season came to the realization that he just cannot get us past Florida and Georgia only about half the time and Spurrier still whipping him. And thats who you have to beat to get to conference title game. Kiffin was my choice, i understand its a gamble but if it pays off then we will wins some titles like we all deserve. If not then in a few years we will be back at drawing board. But Fulmermaniac never apologize for a post only, only for improper language.

No, this board isn't a place you can't state opinions.

You'll just get bashed for them. Thats what I really hate about this forum. You say Fulmer was a good coach, you get bashed to hell and back. You say you don't like Kiffin, you get bashed to hell and back.

Bingo.

I feel fairly badly for Fulmer too, and I wish things had ended differently for him, but I remember how Majors got pushed out too clearly to think of Fulmer as some kind of selfless, sorry victim being shoved out the door. He had a great run, winning a lot of games for the program and enriching himself mightily, but now it's over. That's it. This is how coaches' careers end, is all.

If you really hated it so bad, you wouldn't be posting right now. Admit it, the reason you came back to post this very comment is because you are addicted to the madness.I'm sure rivals has a site where you can get love from everyone in orange.

I'm 22 years old, and all I know if Fulmer. But, I was just as ready to get rid of Fulmer as anyone. I was sad to see him go, but knew it was a must. I will miss him, really. But, I won't miss the same BS I've watched over the past 10 years. Football season is truly too short to watch the crap that has been going on. And 10 years is just way too much.

I wish Fulmer and his family the best, all the position coaches and coordinators, God bless ya'll. Life will change directions, even when you don't plan it, all you can do is handle it, the worst thing you can do is panic. My man T.I.

Anyway, buckle up, because it's about to get real interesting. Thanks Fulmer for the memories! But now it's in Kiffins hands

It's all cool. Some of us think Fulmer deserved more time to try to right the ship, and some of us were ready for him to be gone three years ago. But he's not the coach anymore and we all need to be behind Lane Kiffin now.

As I've said before, if Fulmer decides he wants to coach again, whoever he coaches will be my second-favorite team, and I hope he wins every game he coaches that isn't against Tennessee. If he doesn't coach again, then I look forward to his Hall of Fame induction.

You didn't miss much by not remembering Johnny Majors. :)

But I'm sure you've heard about Rutgers, the 4-12 record against Alabama, 87-7 in the first two games of '81, the blown Cotton Bowl trip in '83 (loss to a bad Ole Miss team), tying Army in '84, the 0-6 start in '88 and the 9-6 game in 1990.

In fairness, he had some really good years, too. But if you thought Fulmer was frustrating, Johnny would have driven you to drink.

Well done.

The whole vol spectrum is a habit.
The tradition,the fans, the games.Habit.
A part of that mystic,an era has been lost or stolen
depending on ones point of view.CFP was a big part of it.

"Habit is habit and not to be flung out the window by any man,But coaxed downstairs a step at a time."

Mark Twain.

Its just that those stairs are longer and taller for some.

This same thing happens when I state my opinion around my wife. :vava:

Isn't that the truth! Most of the bashers do it because they can't post anything original of their own.
