I'm sure this has already been discussed, but...

Unless I'm missing something, no SEC team has a bye week before they play us. Something else that gives me an off-season smile.

Our bye week is before SC......Meh.

We have two away games in a row before Alabama...ouch.

While doable, this season will be a hard fought one to achieve what we believe can happen.

As per usual, SEC schedule is another Meat Grinder! Only SLIGHTLY less this year with AL at home!

The SEC is a grind, it's a big boy conference, no getting around it. You can hand wring about it or accept it for being it is what it is. It's the cost of playing big boy football. We could have left and been Tulane or Georgia Tech but we didn't, we stayed in the SEC so no need to spend a lot of energy over scheduling in conference is my point of view.

This. If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. Hell, we could be like Ohio St. and have a garbage schedule every year despite playing in a weak conference. We all should be thankful that we play in the SEC.

why exactly?

i mean,i get it, i know why...but really, how exactly has this not worked out for Ohio St and Urban Meyer?

why on Earth would they not be thankful for their conference? it sure hasn't hurt them.

The Big Ten is a joke. Of course they're not worried about the conference they play in. If Tennessee played in the Big Ten, honestly how many of our fans would say that we don't play anybody good and we haven't earned anyone's respect yet? The SEC is hands down the most difficult conference to play in and it helps Tennessee's strength of schedule. Like I said before, I would rather play good teams that give us an challenge every week instead of playing average teams that only make you, "look good".

Tennessee is fortunate to get Bama at home. But Bama's stretch heading into the TSIO is much softer than it was in 2015, and is much easier than Tennessee's.

Your are correct here. I like playing and beating the best. However, I believe it is instructive to view the final rankings of Iowa and Northwestern last season. Neither had a tough schedule and lower ranked UT literally demolished both. Yet, both ended up in the top 10 before the bowls.

I still believe playing in the SEC is where I want to be.

Bamas game at Ark week before us is no picnic. If I had to pick a road game from the west for them the week before our game, I'd pick ark. Tough travel, tough environment and physical football team.

Arkansas will be stout. But they are the cap on a murderer's row that also includes Kent State and Kentucky. During that same stretch, UT gets Florida at home, followed by UGA and A&M on the road.

The Big 10 actually is what the SEC is accused of...Over Hyped! Lots of eyes balls and TV sets in Big 10 country so they get a lot of pub from the media. When it comes to showing what they got on the field against the SEC...well not so much.
