Oh Lord not the 3-4 again

The 3-4 is great if you have the right personal to run it. We don't currently. I have no problem with recruiting to it and making the switch in the future. Surely he would adjust his defensive philosophy to the players he has to work with in the present.

That worked really well last time. Don't you have to recruit differently for that?

Will he try to force his defense even if the personnel to run it are not there? If yes - we may lose every game.

You would hope - if not he may not last through the first year.

Hearing he’s changing to a 3-4 and bringing in some guy from Alabama with him. Swamy, Sunseri.........Samsonite. Something like that.

Blue font?? lol we don't even know if he's going to be our coach yet. There's no way anyone could already know what defense he will run or who he's bringing with him.

You're not that rare IMO.. I love seeing a good defense shut a team down. Most of our most memorable players are defensive players. In my era anyway

What is rare nowadays is actually seeing great defense being played in college football. There is, instead, so much of what I call slide-rule football, i.e. the ball moving up and down the field with only token opposition being mounted on defense.

I believe that, if Neyland could look down from above and communicate to us, after reading the signs of what this hire could signify for our program, he would say, “It’s about bloody time. It looks like you are finally going to return to what I taught you that Tennessee football is all about—fierce and unrelenting defensive pressure

A reminder of what happened to our 4-3/4-2-5 defense this year.

I don't care if people run a 3-4, 4-3, 4-2-5, or 1-10 as long as it yields better numbers than this.

500 rushing yards to GaTech?
400 rushing yards to Mizzou?
