I'm pretty sure we just got insulted.

Thanks JP, Nice graph. It shows pretty much what I thought and what most have said, but it's nice, for me, to see it like this.

This thread makes me think of the subject that pops up every year at some point about being fans of Tennessee, not the SEC and how some don't care what everyone else is doing in the SEC. I'm one of those, but seeing how bad the East has been the last few years, I can't help but feel hypocritical. Make sense?

Behr, I've always been a fan of the SEC. Tennessee first, of course, but still I love the traditions and rivalries of the conference.

It's kind of like the "family before tribe, tribe before nation, nation before empire" tiers of loyalty. Entirely possible to be a fan of Tennessee first, last, and forever ... and still support other SEC schools when they play outsiders.

And it's also self-serving. As has been pointed out here many times over the years, the better the SEC does as a conference, the more meaningful it is to outsiders when Tennessee does well.

I guess it comes down to how much hate you hold and need an outlet for. If you got that much, guess you just gotta show nothing but disdain for our conference brothers.

p.s. Similar conversation that also involves sportsmanship AND self-serving interests is the one about talking up (vice talking down) opponents. Whether we win or lose, it's always better to see the foe as worthy. But a lot of folks don't have the sportsmanship in their hearts for that, either...or the brains to see how it helps us. *shrug* the world is as the world is.

I often fail in making my point clear because of trying to use as few words as possible.

I understand your post and guess my best short response is, as I get older, my feelings change.:)

Ah, my apologies. I misunderstood you.

Ah, my apologies. I misunderstood you.

No you didn't. You understood it the way it was typed. There was just more to it than that.

To clear any confusion, I agree with your post more now than I would have 10 or more years ago.

Still didn't follow dools.

Dooley was a terrible situation that everyone here understands, no one argues that.

Arkansas in the west with 3 previous recruiting classes of 34,24, and 49 is pretty terrible as well.

You can understand both with out just saying Dooley terrible, no comparison.

Bielema Is better than butch they beat us last year

Hard to say. They are both in different situations at different places. I wouldn't base it off one head to head game more than the situations surrounding both.

Be interesting to see what both did if they swapped.
