.. I think we have a solid shot at taking Bama this year.
Our receivers are big , fast, and talented. We can stretch the field with a QB who can accurately throw the bomb. Our line is good enough to open holes when the passing game is keeping the safeties back.
Defensively, we now have what every team that plays Bama needs... Mccullers. This kid is going to be most valuable against bama's all American center. If he can stale mate a double team block, the running game will not get going against us. Our secondary is better than their qb and recievers. As long as we can leave our safety back...

We beat NC State, and we have McCullers and CP, so beating the Titans seems more than reasonable

Unless we fix 80% of the mistakes we made Friday , we will have a very slim chance of knocking off Bama. Our linemen on both sides of the ball would have to play out of their minds to have a legit shot at beating them. I would be shocked if Florida didn't give us all we can handle and then some. I'm not convinced we beat them.

Not predicting a shut out against Bama. I'm saying that playing in Neyland with the team we have... I like our chances.

2009, we physically whipped Bama up and down the field. At the end of the game we lost because of poor kicking an a big man named Cody. Now we got the Mountain

Gigity gigity!!!

In 09 that Bama team showed up not ready to play cause they didn't respect us. We almost managed to sucker punch them . That won't happen again.

Bama is good. But honestly Michigan is not very good. We'll know more about Bama as they get into the SEC schedule.

Alabama may better this year than last year...or any other year since Saban has been there. UT has a looooong way to go to be that good.

Lord have mercy. We better not get beat by UF or this place is gonna fall apart. Let's calm down. We beat NCST. A good NCST team but still. We haven't exactly proved to be world beaters yet. Let's get through the first half of the season before we start taking bout beating the bammers

I agree with this, BUT really the only yards they gave up were to the long pass. Michigan hit on three and had a man behind the secondary at least 4 more times, but bad throws cost them. If we get behind their defense 7 times we are in good shape. Having said all that, satan knows a lot more about football than me, so I'm sure he will see why this happened and TRY to make sure we can't beat him deep. Bama can and will take one thing away from everyone they play this year. We MUST be able to run to win that game...

Well, our best option is Alabama's secondary, and it wasn't covering Michigan very well, which didn't matter because Robinson couldn't hit them any of the times they were open. But I think our strength is their weakness. HOWEVER, their offense looks pretty decent too, maybe it was the undersized Michigan defense, but it looks pretty solid.

That is what is good about football, they have to play the game.
We will need a little more than a throw it over their heads approach, i would think.

We will find out a lot about the team we have when we play UF. Have to stay healthy!

Whoa there guys, yeah we beat an at best 7 win team in the acc. Sure we have a chance but slow down there. Let's beat ga st. first, then let's see how we do against fl. al. will be there when it's time for them. Enjoy your week then get ready for hopefully a easy win with most importantly no injuries. Then we have our first real test let's pass that one before y'all plum crazy over our Vols. I will admit I love where we are today compared to where we have been in awhile.

You would think wrong. If we are one dimensional, and they can just pin their ears back and come after Bray, he may not be able to walk ater the game. Don't get me wrong, I think we have a great team this year. It's just Bama is clearly the best team in the country(after one game I know). Imo 130-150 yards rushing will keep Bray upright long enough to hit those deep balls. To me that will be the key with them. Our passing can win most of the games, but not this one.

EDIT: With a another look I missunderstood the first time sry. It's late and I need some sleep.:hi:

I totally agree! One of the big reasons they gave up those big throws was under estimating Robinsons arm! The dude has a sling shot on his shoulder and Bama was getting a little to greedy bringing those safeties up as much as they were!

Bama is basically an NFL team

I don't like it more than anyone else, but this is the truth.

Bama should be #1 and the only way they lose is because they let up.

I love the Vols, but Bama is in whole different league compared to ALL THE NCAA this year (at least after week 1).

Anything can happen on Saturday, but the odds of us beating Bama are a long shot at best. Alot right has to happen for us and alot wrong has to happen for them. But there's always a chance.
