By running it up the middle on first down almost everytime.....Bajakian's gotta get creative somehow like disguising our players in referee outfits or something. Gotta be like a ninja and be sneaky :ninja: Go for broke or something like that.....just saying.

I would like to see the offense milk the clock, as opposed to the up tempo. We are going to have plenty of 3 and outs. We need to kill every second possible.

I get what youre saying but look at it from a coach's perspective. If we throw on 1st down and its incomplete then we're in a second and long. If we're in 2nd and long and have another incompletion the drive is most likely over because we don't convert many 3rd and 8+. If we run on 2nd and 10 we likely only gain around 3-4 yards which sets us up in an unfavorable position. Running on first down sets up a shorter 2nd down, giving us the option to run or pass on 2nd down and have a better chance of getting a 1st down or more manageable 3rd down. This team CAN NOT convert 3rd and longs. There is simply no time for Worley to let routes develop.

I have to agree with you on that. Seems like we're wasting one play on every series by running a "smash" that goes absolutely nowhere. It's like playing with 3 downs instead of 4 the whole game.

Yes

Up tempo will be counterproductive in this game. We need to burn as much clock in each offensive possession as we can

If we go 3 and out and only take 1:05 off the clock each time, we will be in for a long day

IE: We have to keep them guessing. That fact is over some people's heads...simple as it is.:thud:

I know enough that you cant run the same plays over and over and expect to fool the opposing defense

Dont worry about that dude count, every threads got these negative folk., makes em fell good about themselves because they keep doing it over and over again. Your right on your analysis. :good!:

I say we come out and send Hurd or Scott out of the back field on a wheel route down the side line first play of the game for quick hitter like we did with Arian Foster against UK IN 2007. Complete surprise attack :loco:

So... Double reverses and fake screens every play? Those are the two most successful plays we have had, so...

I just think its funny how some people on here are bashing the play calling when the number of plays you can run with negligible input from the Oline can be counted on one hand.

This is a very astute observation. I'd like to add, this is also a good way to get our backs hurt, we cannot afford ANY injuries to our O starters for the rest of the season. A couple of short slants plays may be of some value. But to run it "up the middle" almost every 1st down, makes it awful easy for the D to be ready-and OM's D is pretty good....

Well if the line is all we got and the play calling isnt working just like you say, then what do we have to lose if we go a different route in play calling. hhhmmmmmm. just saying

What do you mean "different route"? Like, adopt the veer for a week?

That isn't how it works. This isn't Madden. They have a set number of plays they have practiced.

Sure, you can tweak the gameplan. But like I said, there aren't enough plays in existence to hide a 14/14 Offensive line.

The running back has to use his vision on these plays instead of putting his head down and running into the back of the Olinmen. There is usually always a cutback lane or an opportunity the bounce outside. I guess it's easy to pick out holes on my 55' flat screen:ermm:

Not to be that guy, but we typically don't gain but 1 or 2 yards per rush anyways...
