Well, if UT had to give up football, I don't know if I would have a favorite. Probably would be where I chose to go to college. I would follow Davis and UNC closely, though.

Not sure how to answer. Chances are if I weren't a UT fan I would give a crap about college sports in general. Some other teams I follow on occasion due to having friends who are fans might be:

Texas
Washinton State
Penn State

In all serious, I would likely follow programs of some of the coaches I think will succeed.

UNC
Rutgers

I'll try to think of some other ones.

LSU, I guess since I was born and rasied there. Luckily, I had a brain and decided to go against the "norm" down there. LOL

as far as division 1-a goes, it's ut and ut only. if i wasn't a ut buff i would just be a college football fan. as far as lower divisions in college go, tennessee tech would be my team since it's where i go to college. the thought of rooting for one of our rivals makes me sick, though.:sick:

Well when I get up there, I'm sure I'll have mixed feelings. Chances are I will be a UT student eventually. As nice as folks have treated me in Knoxville and it's vicinity, I think I'd be a real party poop to not switch to a Vols fan. Thats tough, it's not like me to swtich squads and I'll be a Raiders, Dodgers, and Lakers fan for life.

But the fact is I could never go to USC. Didn't have that silver spoon. And I don't think I'd view it as turning my back on my old college ball squad, so much as embracing my new enviornment, and doing as the Romans do in Rome. Because Tennessee truly feels like home.

It is interesting how we choose the teams we root for. Both of my parents are Sooners, but I have followed the Vols because of living in the Nashville area since age three. Prior to that I was born in Austin and while I can assume that if I'd remained there I would have been susceptible to the same homerish influence and become a Horns fan, it is entirely possible that I would have much more interest in the NFL and much less in cfb at this point due to growing up in a state with two NFL teams.
