If you were Bruce Pearl would you bounce?

Give me a break. If someone doubles your pay and your employer fails to match it you should bolt. I can't see UT not matching anything though, unless it is a truly ridiculous amount.

The longer Pearl stays and wins...the more Mike Hamilton looks like a genius....Pearl is gonna get paid.

What does taking a better job offer have to do with integrity?
It has to do with honoring your committments. To your contract and your recruits. And just because it happens every day doesn't make it ok.

I guess you have read Bruce Pearl's contract. I guess it says in there that he is an indentured servant?

If someone is offering me more than 1 million more at my current job and doubling my salary, I know I wouldn't even stop to pack.

As long as coaches are getting fired and players are leaving whenever they feel like it, I say more power to any coach who leverages his way to a bigger payday.

I would have no problem with Pearl leaving for $1 more. I would have had a problem with Coach Pearl if he had accepted the job at UT, and then done absolutely nothing for the program during his tenure (ala Buzz Peterson).

It's more than the contract. I guess you guys think Nick Saban has integrity too.

I think Saban left in a poor way. He handled the situation in a very unprofessional manner. I have no problem with him taking better jobs though.

He also said he wasn't leaving and then left. How much was the pay difference though. I would have to know to be fair in judgment.

Tennessee has the money to raise his salary if that situation should ever arise. That sure isn't the issue. And with him totally turning their program around the very first season, and his second season record being a little better than the first, they aren't going to just sit back and let him leave. He is the first coach in a long time since Jerry Green that has taken our team somewhere. I really like Bruce Pearl. :salute:

You brought up the contract. You also brough up recruits. So, if collegiate athletes leave school early to be professionals, does it demonstrate a lack of integrity?
If you don't know what integrity is I suggest you look it up in Websters.
