While TN sits around waiting to see if Phil can turn the ship around (which by the way is stuck in an iceberg), other teams are moving on the best coaches that are available.

By naming Dabo Swinney the interim coach, and declaring that he, too, is a candidate to fill this vacancy, they've essentially ensured that they won't be making a hire until after the season anyway.

If UT really wants Lane Kiffin, they could get him.
