I think he would be a great hire for DC, TCU has led the nation in total defense for 3 straight years plus that could open up recruiting doors into Texas, seems like a win win for us!

Might be a good fit. I don't care for guys that start something then don't finish the job. Why even come here? Just stay at Boise and play community colleges all year and make yourself look better.

At Bumpas age, not likely to move from TCU for any other job. Be very surprised if he moved laterally for any other school except maybe Arkansas

I would not mind if we keep Wilcox- but if he is gone- i want Steele.
I would rather see us hire Steele than to give Wilcox a raise to keep him!

I agree he has a top defensive team this year and obviously last year, but let's not pretend that Gary Patterson is not part of that Defense Coaching Staff the guy is a great DC mind since the mid 90s. Second I dont think the 4-2-5 will work in the SEC, especially with so many of he top teams running Spread or Option. We would take a long time to get personnel ready for 5 DB schemes. Third, Please make this your question or opinion at 8PM on New Year's Night. I have a feeling they don't match up well with Wisc.

BTW since this is a message board can we combined the two DC and make a super DC...possibly Just In Dick BumpCox WillAss?

doubt he would be an option...pretty old and not sure he is the type of guy Dooley would be interested in. I believe Shannon and Steele would be about as old as he would go. College Fball has changed so much that alot of the best DCs are turning out to be the younger guys that can mix it up and be as innovative as the new spread offenses out there

I'm not a recruiting whiz, but IMHO getting a guy because he recruits well in Texas from a Texas school is not a great reason. A major part of recruiting is location, and a lot of kids want to stay where Mom & Dad can come see them. I've driven from Chattanooga to Dallas and it's a good 16 hours.

Let's get a guy who can coach and call plays, and let the program sell itself.
