Our defense would be alot better..Our defense had to learn an entire new system and as you can tell that has a huge impact on the season..But remember last year everyone was questioning chaney? granted I did at times but now look we have one of the best offenses in the country..If wilcox had stayed the vols would be 6-3 or 7-2 right now...and all this fire dooley stuff would be gone..I think we give him one more year be patient guys

This is more than about learning a new defense. We are nearing the end of the season and our defense is actually getting worse. They are showing no signs of catching on. Sal sucks.

OK Wilcox goes so why didn't Dool's hire a proven DC. Not another unproven assistant who has never coached as head

I started the same thread before the Georgia game and let's just say your response will be different than the one i got.

I agree that if Wilcox had stayed we would in better shape defensivly.I will not agree that Dooley needs another year.He needs to be fired.

Sick of the excuses. If our defense were different, we would have different game plans going into games. Maybe we'd play it closer to the vest on offense and not take so many chances downfield. Maybe we'd still have turnovers on key drives with the pressure on. Who knows? I don't get this whole "we'd definitely be 7-2 if not for our defense" talk. Dooley has never had that kind of record.

Im tired of the losing to..I just dont want Hart to feel the pressure of the fan base and make a hire that is gonna hurt ut bc our record may not show it but we are an improved football team our D is just not gettin it right now but im sure they will play better this weekend

If Wilcox had stayed...

DD wouldnt be putting his house on the market

Richt would be on the hot seat

TN would be ranked

and we still would have gotten killed by Bama

I ree. Dooley said Troy had a NFL QB and WR. They do because we made them look like that.

Football is more than just offense. It also encompasses defense and special teams. The defense and special teams of this team are horrific.

Disagree our kicking game may be horrible bc of palardy but Punt returns and kick returns we are looking sexy in. You cant tell me this team isnt better than last years you just cant

He hasn't found a reliable kicker to kick XPs in three years nor a punter that is decent.

To the original question, yeah if Wilcox was still here, I think we're looking at one or two losses. Dooley made the choice to completely change defensive philosophy when he knew he was on the hot seat.
