:dance2::dance2:we got a chance......I am looking and reading everything I can about our football program and it seems most people are overlooking our speed (on both sides of the ball)...Fulmer said it was the fastest team he has seen at all at Tennessee and that says alot (interview after spring camp) Chavis and Cut backed that up as well.....not to mention we have the best linebacking corps in the SEC and our secondary is young with some experience but there is nothing but world class speed back there. Our D line is solid, Mapu will be a leader....right side of the O line makes me nervous but there is hope....we have a great QB barring any injuries.....we are 4 or 5 running backs deep......WR is questionable but the talent is there......guess what, it's up to the coaches to bring the creme to the top and they did a wonderful job last year. We got outcoached in 1 game last year and that was Arkansas....we couldn't figure out how to get our receivers off the line of scrimmage and made only 2 adjustments against the press.....Meachem in motion both times!! Florida and LSU could have gone either way. The Gators scored 2 of their 3 touchdowns on the same play...a QB rollout S pattern and we were caught in zone.....the players should recognize and react there......SO, I am excited about the upcoming football team....I like the fact that we are 6 point underdogs going into the CAL game (yes the line has moved from 5.5 to 6 which means in Vegas .5 point means a $500,000 swing.....in our case, people are betting on CAL and moving the line....not experts, people like you and me!! I am really thinking CAL is overlooking us......and that is good news to us!! Just remember this, we start out 3 - 0....we got a shot at a National Title better then most!! :dance2:

There is no way CAL is overlooking UT. If anything, it is the other way around because of what happened last year.

^ Neither team is overlooking the other.

Let's worry about Cal first. We've been beaten by worse teams in recent history.

Last year Arkansas' game we were out manned. Expert game day coaching couldn't do anything for the abuse our D-Line took that night.

If we can go 3-0 in our first three games then we have the chance to either run the table or finnish the season with maybe 1 loss. Even though we are a little young in some areas this is a very fast, very atheletic team.

If we go 1-0 after week 1 we'll have a better chance at an NC than 49% of the teams in the nation.

It's funny how you can spin things.
Yeh Florida and LSU were both close games.

So was Air Force.

You are what you are .... and TN was 9-4

if you guys start 3-0, i'd be shocked to not see you in the SEC championship game. Your teams should only get better as the year goes on.

If we start the season off 3-0 the we will be 3-0.

love the optimism, just can't let myself think about any of that yet.

right now, i'll settle for 1-0 and take may chances each week thereafter.......

Please. He's earned himself quite a lot of wiggle room even if the breaks all go the other way for a bit.

One loss to Tennessee, maybe to soon, but what if you lose to GA on the 27th and then in Columbia against Spurrier's Gamecocks on Nov 10th.

Meyer has nothing to worry about it....not even worth discussing at this point.
