If We Run The Table As Of 10/19/07

If you play a tough schedule you get penalized and if your in a weak conference you get rewarded.

The current system is unfair, and will be that way until Div 1 gets a playoff. It's ridiculous to decide it based on a schedule when a team who plays nobody of note can get in.

There are half a dozen teams out there that would be undefeated had they played South Florida's schedule.

Yes and NO to that. Yes USF plays an easier schedule.... but the rankings arent that bad... we had some one loss teams ahead of no loss teams and we had some 2 loss teams ahead of a number of one loss teams... i know we had undefeated team not playing for NC last year

There is WAYYYYY to much football left to play to think about running the table. Frankly, Arky and Kentucky scare me to death.
Arkansas scares me not. Yeah they have mcfadden and jones but nothing else. They simply won't score enough points to beat us. Kentucky on the other hand is a very good team and scares me alot.

IMO UT is going to lose to either SC or KY or maybe both. They didn't play that great against Miss St. GA looked terrible again against Vandy and that's UT's signature win.

USF would probably be the 3rd best team in the SEC and they are suppose to be the 5th best team in the country? It's a joke, Div 1 needs a 8 team playoff.

I don't think you can use scores from other games to determine how good or bad a team is this year. For instance, GA beat Ole Miss 45-17 and Ole Miss only lost to Florida 30-24. As crazy as this year has been, its impossible to predict the outcomes of games using this methodology. IMO, a win on the road in the SEC is very impressive, no matter who you play.

I think UK has proven themselves and now they have to be considered a serious threat.

Hate to say it but, UT will lose at least one more time.

Agreed, just ask LSU about how hard it is to win on the road in the SEC. I am proud of the game we played against MSU yesterday because we ran the ball and won the game. IF we can continue to run the ball well we will give KY, SC, VANDY, ARK, and bama fits.

KY scares me the most, because they are getting a taste of winning feels like. They are looking for some pay back after getting walked on every year.

USF wouldnt beat South Carolina, LSU, KY, Florida. If they played ARK with Monk, then they would lose that one too.

When I mentioned playing Florida later in the year, it wasn't so much for a better chance of beating them as it was for keeping the season exciting up to the very end. I can't speak for the whole board, but as for myself, I don't waste my time wondering what Florida fans find laughable. I couldn't care less. And as for being amazed that we "pretend" the Florida game never happened, maybe we just have the ability to hope for the best, even after a bad loss, that others lack.

Don't worry about the "Sunshine" in here LIO....he just a doom and gloom person....he prolly just pretends he has a wife on the internet and pushes the buttons on his own joystick

And we need to keep on hoping. We're playing good right now and if we continue to play the way we are we will be in Atlanta in December! Let the Gators think whatever they want to think- they are on the losing side of the stick now!!!

bet you said they wouldnt beat west virginia either. every one of those games EXCEPT for LSU would be a toss-up.

Thats the one i worry about, becase its next. One game at a time, cant overlook a single game.

exactly, were going to be in a hell of an enviornment Saturday. Saban should already have two losses, but his team's found a way to win yesterday at Ole Miss and a couple of weeks ago at Arkansas.

we have to keep winning them one at a time

USF in the title game would be a total joke! Their big win was at Auburn. If they played in the SEC, USF would lose 3-4 games, easy.

I see your point......and that was an embarrassing moment.......but we comeback from all of that and reign supreme.....the voters will vote right and not like a disgruntled Tennessee fan who is mad and embarrassed at 39 point defeat

If we win every game from this point on by 40 points and there are no one-loss teams remaining come December than UT might get a shot. Otherwise there is absolutely no chance. The National Championship is out of reach for this year. I'm sure Phil Fulmer would agree.

What you're forgetting is that all these polls are 100% meaningless. The only poll that means anything is the final BCS poll that comes out after the regular season. Until then, it doesn't matter if Notre Dame is ranked #1. It means nothing.

A realist would understand that there is no way a 2-loss team will ever play for it all. UT's schedule is really difficult, and the Vols might even make it to a BCS game with a loss in the SEC Championship (but I doubt it). We still have a shot at a really good bowl game, but not the NC. That's just the way it. It sucks that our schedule is always tough early.

USF beat Auburn at Auburn... how many SEC teams have done that in recent years??

so all the talk of USF losing 3-4 games in the SEC is a joke. The only team that would be a true favorite over USF would be LSU.

National Champions need to dominate a season. Losing a game by a fieldgoal is one thing. Losing by 39 points is another. you cannot possibly claim to be a "National Champion" when one team beat you by 39 points.

By Bear... iF yur holdin up that crystal football yur a national champ n my book...
