If we finish 7-5 or 8-4 with Aguilar and no significant playing time for Merklinger or Gmac, Heupel's seat will be warm going into next year, but not hot.If we lose to Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Vandy and Oklahoma all in this season then I think you do have to talk about Coach being on the hot seat.
What he does in the offseason will tell whether he is a serious coach or not. It will tell whether the administration is serious about competing at the highest level. No changes, they will be content with the status quo as long as people keep ponying up their hard earned money
Tennessee has only won 10 games or more 21 times...it still matters. The Vols going to the Citrus bowl and beating Michigan or USC or Illinois would be a great end10-3 is like a tie game. Who cares about bowl games. It’s CFP or down the drain in this era of football. Hot seat is the best place a coach could be. He’s just closer to earning some serious cash for getting fired. Guaranteed contracts need to end.
We can’t beat anyone at home now ? Good teams and coaches protect home turf.If we finish 7-5 or 8-4 with Aguilar and no significant playing time for Merklinger or Gmac, Heupel's seat will be warm going into next year, but not hot.
We have a somewhat favorable schedule next year. We go on the road to South Carolina, Vandy, Texas A&M, and Arkansas. Not terrible.
You'd definitely be in "a coordinator has to take the fall" territory.
