Most are going to say no at this time but if he were to be hired a few big wins would erase his past. And if history repeats itself like abunch of fans that ran out and bought orange pants alot would have a Harley and a mistress.

Why does it matter if alum or not? What is your hypothesis?

Voted no, not an alum, vol by birth

To me it doesn't matter. Someone in another thread said there would be a wide disparity in the responses. Got into a small argument over it

If you think that is why people don't want Petrino, you need to dig a little deeper. Check out the mess he left in Louisville and then in Atlanta. Any coach that abandons his team is a scumbag and I don't want him here and I sure as hell don't want a man like that representing our university.

Maybe being an alumni does affect my opinion, but hiring a man like that, to me, is a disrespect to those that made the Tennessee program. I wonder if General Neyland would ever endorse a man like Petrino to head the football program at the University of Tennessee.

If we don't get gruden id rather just keep Dooley. Don't see any of the available college coaches/coordinators as an upgrade. Many whom I've spoken with feel the same. Flame away...

I'd go straight to Charlie Strong and see what it would take to get him here. He can recruit. Is a defensive minded coach. That would be my option #2.... He could get the right defensive recruits here to win championships. I like championships...

No. Too much baggage from his last indiscretions. After he's been back in the game for a few years and the heat dies down, then could be a viable option.

I asked yesterday what his other issues were and no one responded. I do not hold it against him for leaving the Falcons but there may have been issues at Louisville I am unaware of that could change my mind.

I do not have Petrino in my top 3 but as I said yesterday if Hired I would have an open mind.

Yes, and I am a UT grad. People make mistakes. As long as you feel the person has learned from his mistake, his resume as a COACH says he can win here.
