If we beat Ohio State In Knoxville...

face it, Michigan's defense was talked up all year, and played poorly in their two biggest games.

That's classic Loyd Carr. They just choked. We weren't better than Wisconsin, were we? They played fine then. They also stomped ND, who although was overrated, wasn't a bad team.

maybe not, but let's not forget how bad OSU's defense looked against the only two decent offenses they played last year.

True, but how much do you see us scoring?

I also don't see how we would stop their moble QB, the running game which we didn't successfully stop all year, and Ginn, Gonzo, Hartline, Robiskey, and company. Our db's weren't bad, but they would have had a hard time keeping up.

defensively Wisconsin was miles ahead of us, but no one could establish the run on them all year, so who's to say we wouldn't have just thrown all day anyways? i think if arkansas had a passing game in the least last year they would have beat wisconsin.

If we had an answer for the run, we wouldn't have been manhandled by Arkansas.

this has been a good argument about a completely impossible scenario. kudos

I'm not sure any QB would have had a lot of time.

a common misconception about that game is how bad the offense performed, crompton played like a freshman, he didn't have a horrendous game, just not a good one. The offense didn't play terribly, just not great. With Ainge at the helm, I think we had a much better chance of having that great game and making it close.

edit: the defense is what lost it for us though.

How did this thread get trashed with all the football references the past few pages? You might as well change the title of the thread now..:ermm:

If Arkansas just would've held on to the ball, they would've beat Wisconsin. They were pretty successful running the ball up and down the field in that game as I recall.

they were successful for a while yes, but if memory serves correct, by the end of the game wisconsin wasn't having it.

but yes, they also had problems holding on to the ball.

Because eventually it comes down to who's football coach is better than CPF or what football players are better than UT's football players etc regardless of what sport people are talking about

well, the thread had little substance to begin with, the football talk certainly livened it up.
