...who will be ranked higher in the polls? How high? If we've all beaten each other, who do you put ahead of the other two?

We have the strongest strength of schedule (SOS) outside of those common games. We also earned a lot of respect from the pollsters last week at A&M. Bama has been #1 the whole season.

I'm inclined to think the voters put Bama first unless we beat them handily, despite my leanings that we should be ahead anyway by SOS.

What do you think, VN?

If we beat Bama then all that matters is what happens in the SEC championship game. That's the only poll that matters, the rest are just a formality

I'm pretty sure if Bama lost five straight, somehow they would still be ranked in the top 5.

wow...tall order, but if it happens, and we run the table, and if LSU and Florida play "the" game, and Florida loses...we'll be in top four...for sure...I BELIEVE....I BELIEVE...:pepper::yahoo:

GO VOLS...BEAT BAMA!

If we beat Bama and run the table then I would prefer that UF beats LSU since we will win the East anyway. UF winning out would only help our SOS.

short answer, Bama. and TN and aTm would be w/in one spot of each other, w aTm, ahead. all 3 in the top 7 or 8.

of course, that requires us winning on Saturday. past that i really don't care about the polls. IF we were to go 3-1 in this stretch.....the polls will take care of themselves.

It doesn't really matter what the rankings are in Week 8 or Week 9. If we beat Bama, win out, and win the SECCG, we will be in the CFP. Period.

Our SOS is fine, Fl could go on a losing streak and I would never call it off. I would like to get another crack at A&M in Atlanta.

Plan B all the way to Tampa.

What would be a real mess is if we lose to Bama and then turn around and beat an undefeated Bama or aTm in he SECCG.

What would the committee do with a 2 loss SEC champ and a 1 loss runner-up?

The way everyone is talking this season, Ohio State and Michigan are unstoppable and they are the SEC champs/ B1G champs and National Champs

I am inclined to think the selection committee will care much less about it than you do. Once they release their top four, the polls will magically fall in line with their decision, no matter who has been in the top four or whether they just won, lost, or tied. Just like last year.

Id rather unleash hell on Bama and beat them by 28 and then worry about the rest.

Bring on the Tide!

Lets say (God forbid) Bama wins over us (notice didn't say beats) by 3 four points or so, or maybe in overtime. Then beats the hell out of A&M, how would we stack up then? At some point down the road, do you think pollsters might say now that Tennessee is healthy, they are better than A&M? Like has been said on this topic, the only pole that matters is the last one. But fun to "what if"

When does that come out first?

I think that would depend on our injuries, current and possible future ones to be honest. Because a 95-97% healthy UT team can play with anyone. If Sutton and Kirkland are 100% we are a different team. I also think how we win the sec game will matter a lot too. A big and convincing win would go a long way.
