If we are going to face facts, we need to admit that

Heupel is not a championship coach. He’s much better than anyone we have had since Kiffin and deserves respect and job security for what he has done so far. Let’s do the damned thing

I disagree. He is a few hard choices away from being a championship coach. He has all the skill set. Just needs to place winning over friendship.

Ryan Day is no better a HC than him. Day just made a business decision with a few coaches and it saved his job and won him a natty.

Day has the highest winning percentage of all time.

We have a severe case of "back-up quarterback syndrome" with coaches where we seem to think that we can just lure any coach we want to Tennessee. Even if Heupel is the next Richt after what we've been through since 2008 I'd take a few seasons of 10-2 or 11-1 even if it means we don't win it all. At least it's a respectable product, fun to watch and makes the job more attractive for the next guy.
Re Richt, 10 win SEC HC don't grow on trees.

it’s year 5 and the portal era, it’s time we get over the roster Heupel inherited. He still isn’t leading a championship caliber program and never will due to some flaws that haven’t changed a bit in 5 years.
You are aware we have been unable to recruit fully during this time, I think 28 less scholarships than other schools,, what would 28 more schorlarship players have done for us. If I am not mistaken we just this year come off of those sanctions.

This is an insane take....

obviously UGA beat us, but we are at least their equals, if we hit the FG to win, would you believe this?

Ole Miss, Mizzou, Texas A&M, Oklahoma hasn't done anything to show they are better than us even against weak schedules, LSU has had better shedule but their offense hasn't been anything dangerous

Bama sure they could beat us in Tuscaloosa, but they got drilled at FSU so we will see how good they are this week

Indiana hasn't beaten anyone but Oregon (which was a good win) but who knows how good either really are...

Miami and Ohio St have the talent, but let's see at playoff time.

Notre Dame is not that good at all, Texas Tech hasn't played anyone either...USC maybe...Michigan is a joke

You are just assuming a lot in a year where no team looks great or dominant....
I agree there is no dominant team in the sec. Imo any of these could win the conference or play in the sec championship game. Ut Vols, Ga, Bama, Mo. Texas, Texas A&M, Lsu, Ole Miss

Not being a championship coach is not unique, most coaches aren’t. Agree that Heup should expect more from DC. Just on the first drive alone, on the first third down they are throwing to the sticks. We have guys drifting back in zone 3 yards beyond the line to gain. Makes zero sense to not have those guys playing the sticks on third down. Just stupid
You are absollutely right, I have said the same thing, just stupid to do that, and we do it time after time.

Those were spread out over the years. It’s not as if we have been playing short 28 men.
