What would it mean should Auburn win Saturday?

That Auburn is ahead of UT in the re-building process?
That Auburn hit a home run with Chizik?
That Auburn just has UT's number? 4 straight.
That we should think less of going to a bowl and focus more on the next recruiting class?
That UT is likely headed for a 5 win season?
Or that Tubbs out-recruited Phil the last 3-4 years?

jk

Actually, most reasonable fans knew this was a 3 year plan. Just too much in the dumper to recover any quicker.

we should think about not going to a bowl game and that Phil was out recruited

what gets lost in this conversation and I know the aubies will argue this point....BUT...for a lot of the auburn offensive players this is actually their SECOND year in this type of offense, sure franklin was fired last season but they still had that practice under him. Malzahn comes in and has a much less formidable job to do to educate the more important pieces of the puzzle - the oline and qb...I am not saying last years team is the same as this but is has to play a part...experience counts.

Absolutely right. But I still want to win this one.

I doubt the systems are that similar, and for sure the terminology is different----besides--Tubbs; like Fulmer didn't totally buy into the new offense, so we can presume the players- like the vols--- weren't committed either. Auburn was doing the qb shuffle LY--too.

No Ramifications!!! Three year plan, besides with the three recruits we have in town and the way the UCLA game went for recruiting. I would forefit the game to sign Luc,Elam and Riley! lol. Just Kidding, I HATE AU-BARN!! GO VOLS!

:D

That Auburn is ahead of UT in the re-building process?Started further along than we did
That Auburn hit a home run with Chizik?Need 3-4 years to determine this - same for Kiffin
That Auburn just has UT's number? 4 straight.
That we should think less of going to a bowl and focus more on the next recruiting class? Most fans are already there - even if we get a bowl it will be a lower tier one
That UT is likely headed for a 5 win season? If we don't beat Auburn, 5 wins is very likely
Or that Tubbs out-recruited Phil the last 3-4 years?
Yes, at QB specifically

Todd > Crompton

That is what I think....

If we had a good QB we would be at least 3-1 if not 4-0

The recievers are going to have to make something happen this weekend "If" they get the ball....We cant have Crompton trying to make a play....

If you guys make a bowl game and show improvement over the year, I'd consider it a success. This is a tough month for y'all, a split would do wonders.

If we lose this Saturday or any other Saturday after this one it means one thing...the Vols need more work.

That Tubbs out recruited Fulmer

and beats us, the big implication will be that spread is a superior offense to the pro-style at the college level. Each year more and more teams are adopting the spread--look at old-school michigan and old-school auburn. Tubs didn't outrecruit Fulmer--auburn was TERRIBLE on offense last year. So if they come out and score tds tomorrow while we wallow around, we'll have to give the spread it's due. Yes, if you have GREAT players, the pro-style is fine, I think: But you can win games with the spread with an average/above average talent---and that is something to think about.

The same effect as Alabama losing La. Monroe. From a fans perspective we all want to win, but I think most of us are looking for improvement as the season moves goes along. If we lose 31-3, thats one thing, but if its 17-14, we all understand the weakness of this team.

It simply proves how far into the gutter Tennessee has fallen, and why a change at the top was necessary. It will take a couple of years for Tennessee to get back where they should be.

I'd say the only ramification is another L in the Win-Loss column...nothing else. We are expecting Kiffin to turn water...no, toilet water(on offense anyways), into wine.

It would mean that we're 2-3 and still don't have a servicable QB.
