We have all seen many bad calls in every sport at every level, but this was beyond anything I've ever seen in my life. The refs handing down a game. If UNC spiked the ball legally, the clock would have ran out because of all the players on the field. I just don't get it. Surely the NCAA can review this. They wouldn't **** over a big 10 team like this.

You can bet that they'll consider adopting the NFL 10 second runoff rule after this bs.

I'm mad too, but the refs got every call right except for maybe the catch on the sideline. It really hurts right now, but it wasn't the officials. It's a team loss and a failure to be disciplined.

Absolutely this was insane. Look I understand this may sound like a stupid question but what actually happened? They made it sound like he spiked the ball with 1 second left and so it counted. A penalty was committed, that means the ball is dead as soon as it snaps right and the penalty is enforced. However, an offensive penalty shouldn't stop the clock imo. So did they count the spike that should have never counted or did they say the penalty stopped the clocked? I'm confused.

The refs did blow it. There were too many men on the field for UNC so it wasn't a legal play to snap the ball, thus it shouldn't have been counted... end of game.

the replay showed they spiked the ball with one second and took the penalty. What is the problem? We loss get over it. It sucks I know. Congrats to UNC

That's it! I'm all done watching bowl games this season. The officials are officially ruining the experience. I'll be in hibernation till September.

they spiked it one second left, it was clearly shown

If i snap the ball with too many men on the field and then throw a completion, does the completion count? The spike should have never counted. As soon as the ball snapped the play is dead due to the penalty right? How can they get the benefit of a completed play?

Your post doesn't make sense. There was 1 second on the clock, period.

You can't be serious?

The problem is they had 12 players participate in the play, so it should have been a 15 yd penalty and a much harder fieldgoal

If we make the extra point, none of this matters.

If we actually wrap up on our tackles instead of trying to deliver an NFL highlight hit (which is now illegal in the NFL), we might have won in regulation.

If we don't rough the kicker on the field goal, maybe UNC doesn't get a TD in the first OT, and we possibly pull out a win.

If. If. If. If. . . . I'm sick of "if's." I'm sick of watching our bowl games and walking away disgusted. This goes all the way back to Nebraska killing us back in the late 1990's, K-State killing us in 2000, two pathetic performances against the ACC in back-to-back Peach Bowls, not showing up for the Outback Bowl against Penn State, and then getting embarassed by VT last year. Now, we have another one to add to the list.

No excuses. No more "talk." Until this team figures out a way to win when it counts, we'll all just remain fans of a once great program that is struggling to dig itself out of a hole. I'll be with the Big Organge regardless, but this is absolutely pathetic.

That and the dude came over the loud speaker and said, "The Game is Over".
