that our defense would only give up 3 offensive touchdowns to Florida and Auburn combined, what would you have said? We'll be 4-0. If Erik Ainge(as much as I dislike him and most do) were our QB, we'd be 4-0. Hard to imagine we wouldn't be. Someone on the team has to step up and say it's time for a change at quarterback. Gerald Jones and Demonte Bolden appear to be the likely candidates, but I don't know if anyone will.

I don't think we beat Florida even with Ainge.

That's debatable and even if we lose that game, 3-1 right now would be much more favorable, especially with Florida losing today.

no way a WR is going to leave his QB out to dry in the media. that's just asking to have the ball not passed to you

The defense still has problems. But they've played well enough to give us a shot at winning every game we've played. 2005 redue. Its almost a exact copy of that team. Except the defensive line was better in 2005.

I don't think anyone is asking G. Jones to go public, but the team leaders should go to the coach.

I'm sure you have all been on teams where you went ot the coach and asked for a change in players.

So far the defense is at least as good as I had expected. In fact, one of my biggest complaints isn't even on how they've played but how they've been schemed in some situations, most notably how soft our corners are sometimes told to play.

I realize that Auburn is a darn good D but I saw more than enough yesterday and in the previous games (including UCLA and UAB who are not good defensive teams) to come to the simple conclusion that Crompton is not an SEC quarterback. I have no idea what else we have that can be trotted onto the field and compete with other SEC teams but I am quite certain Crompton cannot do the job.

Never as a player. (And I was always a leader on my teams) Players will go to the player before the coach.
Never as a coach has anyone ever asked me that.

Just doesn't work that way in the real world.

BTW Pro sports don't count as the real world.
