Got to admire standing behind is word, but with all due respect where else would he go?

We'll never know since he turned down invitations to camp at Ohio State and Oklahoma State after getting the UT offer. I'll go ahead a trust the UT Staff on this one since they actualy saw him in person...not to mention the coaches that saw him at the Sparq Camp in Atlanta.

Smith admitted today he had not gone out and signed up with all the recruiting services and "promoted himself"..
The Nike camp in Atlanta where he placed higher than a lot of 3* and 4* recruits in March was first thing he had done to get out and "show off" his talent..
Believe it or not a lot of these kids who we think are big time recruits, get out early and promote themselves thru interviews and going to combines. Smith had done none of this. If u watch his highlight video think u'll be impressed..
The Zanca kid we have as a LB commitment is the same.

This.

You either trust Dooley/staff with their evaluations or you trust Rivals/247, who didn't know he existed.

The other schools knew he existed and the kid would get good offers once he hit their camps. Smart move to lock him up. he is very talented.

To better understand how this recruiting stuff works go to Croom's thread. Scroll back to recruiting season last year into February this year. MZTERRY (Jason's mom) explains it all.

That's like dating a 6 with a bunch of 2's throwing themselves at you. Just let a 7 come along.

Imagine if you comitted to your bride at the altar like these recruits commit to their school of choice:

"I'm a solid committment to you right now, but ima take my visits to other girls to see what they have to offer"

Look out.

Half of marriages end up in divorce, so its about the same really :)

He balled out in Atlanta, I have no problem with offering him. I'll take a kid that will bust his tail anyday with enough talent.

Always shop yourself for a better deal in your career and you have a great chance of improving your income vs staying at the same company and being a lifer.
