Have heard all the comments on here about needing a shake up in the coaching front. Here is a question I ask??

If we bring in new coaches would you rather have a stud recruiter or a stud coach that normally doesn't recruit very well?

We have 2 coaches, CTT & CRG ranked in the 247 recruiter rankings (i know it doesn't mean very much) but for discussion humor me-
Who can we get out there that is a true ACE recruiter? Who is at the top of everyones list. We need a couple guys that can recruit their butts off.

If we hired Gruden in 2-4 years it would be the same thing because he would go to the NFL first decent job he was offered. I have nothing solid to base that on JMO.

Frank Beamer made a career out of recruiting 3 star guys and coaching them up. I remember watching one of his early VT teams run Alabama out of Nashville in the Music City bowl. Great coaches always get the job done.

He could probably get an NFL job if he threw his hat in the mix. He wouldn't need UT for that.

I'd see Tony Elliott, Jeff Scott, Lincoln Riley, Matt Lubbick as major upgrades recruiting and coaching wise.

I'd throw Matt Luke and Dameyune Craig from Ole Miss and LSU as options as well.

There are plenty of other opportunities to upgrade on this offensive staff from DeBord and company. I just don't see Jones ceding control of the offense in any way, shape, or form though.

Statistically he and Butch are basically the same as far as winning percentage goes.

Right that's what I'm saying. But he would be able to basically bide his time until one came open he'd actually want. I don't think it matters either way, Gruden is a pipe dream IMO.

Point is he wouldn't be here long

Lane Kiffin - Good OC and recruiter

Kiffin is a good offensive mind, no doubt, but he has also never had to work with lesser talent so to speak. Tennessee tenure aside, the worst he has performed was when he had the USC squad, which was by no means on par with the earlier USC or AL teams.

Bill Snyder did a wonderful job with juco's.
