But it's not Climer's call lol

It's a lot easier to fire someone when the repercussions don't effect you

Climer is a farging arse. He doesn't have Franklin to kiss the arse of anymore so he doubles down on his anti-UT stuff.

A ridiculous article to write at this point in time. Does he really think Hart is gonna fire CCM if he doesn't win a tourney game. Bruce Pearl is waiting if he does.:)

I don't see Martin getting canned this year. I would think it would be a lot easier with another year of his contract in the books and a sub-.600 record.

Climer knows that. Just drawing page views.

If martin is retained he will get an extension, so basically hart is at a crossroads IMO pop martin now and find a new coach or extend martins contract and bulk up the buyout. So either ax him or he will be at UT a while longer

:lolabove: Bruce will never coach at Tennessee again. He might be coach at Memphis, Auburn, or some other place. Get over it people. He had his chance at Tennessee and lied to the NCAA. J.Cheek is in charge and he will never hire Bruce back.

I agree with him. 3 years, 2 in NIT, all totally inconsistent except on D and barely made tourney this year. Gotta be a sweet 16 or bust for him. Is it? Unfortunately probably not. Sounds like we are okay with mediocrity. Scrapping to just have a chance to be one of the best 68 teams in the nation. Maybe I'm crazy. Maybe I'm spoiled by Bruce, who I think could've taken us to the promise land btw. Who is conviently still located around Knox and will be available to take a job soon. Also, prob won't happen. But hope is happiness, for now.

Yes that was sarcasm:peace2: as people thinking CCM is gonna get fired if he doesn't win tournament games. It is not gonna happen. It may determine his raise and extension and that is about it.

Not necessarily

Martin could lose to Iowa on Wednesday and he won't be fired. Considering he has just one year remaining anyway, I'd anticipate Hart giving him a sink-or-swim 2014-15 season. If he fails...we start searching next March.

EDIT: Never mind, he has two years left. Still sticking with sink-or-swim approach.

Yes is would seem unlikely that we could keep Martin without a raise and more important an extension. He has to be able to go to recruits with the knowledge that he has three years on a contract to be effective. I am really interested how Hart will handle that as next year looks to be a difficult one for any coach that coaches at Tennessee.

Martin could have 10 years on his contract, and he would still be a poor recruiter

Yeah not giving him an extension would probably be handcuffing him when it comes to recruiting because players want to know if the coach is going to stick around.

To be honest. I think Martin would leave to go back to the Big 10. Maybe we could trade him to Minnesota for Richard Pitino. :good!:
