If it looks clunky this fall...

I don't have sacred cows. I don't want Fulmer back. I want CLK to succeed in a magnificent way...

He was left with a quickly emptying cupboard. He's been so far unable to hang on to some critical OL recruits. It isn't fair. It isn't his fault. But if he doesn't get players starting with this class, UT will probably have 2 or 3 really rough seasons with the best talent situation being this fall. If he doesn't have at least one 10 win season and has one or two seasons around or below .500 then he's going to be in trouble.

You want to make this into a Fulmer issue because that's an easier argument for you. I said it was time for him to go. He's gone. It is done.

Saban came in behind Shula and landed the #10 recruiting class with about the same amount of time Kiffin has had... maybe a little less. Kiffin's class seems to be eroding by the day... Gone: Foster, Herbert, Hunter, Giles, Shackleford, Petty, Boyd. Probably gone: Phillips, Stokes, Thigpen. Possibly gone: Oku

Maybe I forgot someone but that's 11 pretty good prospects that have so far only been offset by Gordon, Green, and Edwards. Unless one of those guys can bulk up to 300 lbs... they don't help where UT needs it most.

The one thing you fail to accept or acknowledge when you mention the players CLK has loss and that is: They were never players he recruited but was recruited by the previous staff. Did it ever cross your mind that CLK felt they would not mesh in his scheme and since Hamilton told him he had to honor the offers he felt it was best to come forward and tell them they did not fit but they're welcome to come if they choose. Seems to me there are alot of people placing blame on these kids who are not coming here on the staff and not the fact the staff is being upfront and telling these kids to look elsewhere. You also mentioned players that we never had a legitimate shot to sign with to begin with. One thing is for sure about this staff over the previous one and that is players will either play at the top of their game or will be riding the pine. The other piece of the pie is we now have better recruiters on our new staff then we ever had on our old one so be patient and stop complaining when you have no idea the plan and where we will be next season and the seasons that follow.

1. You have a contingent of people that are still pissed off about CPF getting fired, and now all the sudden they have ratcheted up their expectation level for the new staff. a la what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Ultimately knowing that in year one it's unlikely they can meet a 9+ win or SEC title level expectations, they will surely be there at the end telling us all......"see, it wasn't good enough for Phil, why is good enough now? Fire Kiffin!" Of course, i embelish for effect, but you get the idea.

IE, you fall squarely in group 1.

Negative. How am I ratcheting up expectations? I clearly said that I would expect a 10-win season from Fulmer this season and I'm willing to back down to a 9-win season for Kiffin and Co.

If we don't win 9 games we will lose to a team we should have beaten. Those that think 9 wins is unrealistic havev not looked at our schedule appartently.

I refuse to lower expectations with a new staff. You think Auburn fans are willing to let the new staff "rebuild" for a few years? You think Miss fans are OK with mediocre while the staff recruits better?

Try as I might, there's just no getting around it, we are one of the most irrational fan bases out there.
