If I were Pruitt, I’d make these guys watch this clip

I don't think I could be much further out of sync with you, OP.

No way you make our kids watch this. It teaches them nothing. It is not motivational.

Just what exactly would you hope to accomplish by showing this clip to our players? "Look, lads, a CBS sports-caster thinks you're mediocre. Don't that just make you want to run through a wall?!?!? No? Oh. Okay. Never mind."

I'm pretty sure our guys got the message of humiliation loud and clear by the time they walked off the field. How about, we take our precious time and fix the problems that we actually created on the field?

Why do people assume that some emotional pep talk or corny pump up is going to turn a low tier SEC team into a playoff contender? This is not a kids soccer movie here.

He’s 100% correct Swain pretty much said the same thing on his show today as well. We have some talent but not enough to compete week in and week out. They will improve some but the season isn’t long enough to learn what they need to. I feel bad for these guys Butch let them down on development and it’s showing bad. Dobbs kept Jones looking better than he was in all reality

Yeah, I hear what you guys are saying. Personally, I would take a whole lot from conversations like this. Listen, I know that negative commentary is not going to magically make players snap into super human mode. However, I believe in defining moments. This is something where I would challenge my players to change the narrative, practice harder, perfect your position, be a support player in the overall scheme. I have seen many Tennessee guys that were under-performers in this league for many reasons, (development, coaching, not rightly capitalizing on talent) that go on to make big impacts in the NFL. Look at the last few years and the impact that players like Kamara, Foster, Cordarrelle Patterson, Juan James, etc . I'm not questioning where we are, I am questioning the comments about talent.

Unless my definition of talent doesn't have to do with ability. Does it? Or are these two different things? I'm genuine in asking.

Hate to agree with him but that is a fair assessment. Hopefully we build week by week but the attitude and intensity of the team has to improve.

With 2 what should be easy wins for the next couple of game playing weeks, it should be a good morale booster for these guys. They just need to be shown they can win games.

People are judging a lot after week 1. Do we have to get better, most definitely. But our season is not lost and I think we can still surprise many with a few wins that are not expected. This team has some experience but it also has some youth, it also has some that haven't played much in a while like Tuttle and Kirkland and Gooden. We played some freshmen on the backend against one of the better passing teams in college football. The season is still young and I am hardly waving the white flag, I expect us to be improved and playing with more confidence by Florida. These next 2 games are important for us too make strides, and for people saying we can't make enough stride I say that attitude never got anybody anywhere. Nobody was more disappointed than me Saturday afternoon but I seen a lot of positives and I think we will get better as the season goes. GBO!!!!!!

I swear that Nick guy sounded like a woman. At first I thought the audio was for the wrong video because the video was lagging and I did t think that was Nick speaking. But yes, WV is better and we have a tough road ahead while still having some bright spots.

Every day this week!

Gary Danielson breaks down No. 17 West Virginia's win over Tennessee

Not that I fully disagree but it should be used as motivation to make these guys better. Not sure I’d say Callaway and Jennings aren’t the caliber of WVs wide receivers- don’t know. What do you guys think?
If I were Jeremy Pruitt I wouldn't give two acorns about what Gary Danielson says/thinks. If I'm Jeremy Pruitt I'm focused on how my players are reacting to the staff and team changes.

Danielson said nothing some of us havent been saying for 2 yrs. The WRs can make tough catches and get open but they can’t run by anyone. OL is weak everywhere except where Smith plays. DL is thin, lacks talent and doesn’t play hard entire game. DBs are slow. Other than that they’re a SEC team. That’s probably not gonna change next two seasons.

Don't sell Pruitt short. I'm sure he wasn't happy with losing to UWV in the manner it happened, but Florida is the test. I still think UT will surprise and beat a team they aren't suppose to. His post game comments encourages me CJP is the real deal and it will be reflected on the field of play this year.

He doesn't. Danielson only matters to outsiders who get their information from a television. It's 100% separated from reality.

National media figures don't have much of an insight into the inner workings of a program. They tend to give only an external view of the surface shine. Between that and the possible homerisms of local coverage, I tend to go for the regional guys, that cover the conference.
