This was from the Pat Forde rivals article. I felt that the negavols need to see this.

“I’m really excited,” Dooley said. “For the first time, I think we’ve got enough quality football players, enough experience, enough depth, to go compete.

“I honestly didn’t think that way the last two seasons. It doesn’t mean we’ve arrived, or we’re as good as everyone in the league. But we’ve given ourselves an opportunity to compete.”

I always felt that he was posting facts and not excuses. Either way its going to be viewed postive or negative.

BUT

For those that keep saying he will keep making excuses. I believe we atleast see that he is saying its time to play real football. He acknowledges that he needs to win or face the music as well.

Lets give him this year atleast and stay off his case so much.

for some of you... maybe not.

Prior to the 2011 season, Dooley said that he wasn't going to use youth as an excuse... We all know how well he stuck by that

This should be true....at least on paper. But I wonder what he is going to say if we start losing again.

I hope we don't have to find out.

Staying off of his case will help recruiting. When a recruit is interested in U.T. and they or their parents access a forum like this one and they see that some don't support the coach and others are critical of Lincoln or Z. Rogers, then that can't be good for recruiting.
(1) We are struggling (2) fan base predicts Dooley will soon be gone (3) fan base is cricitcal of current players.
Not a good recipe for getting a recruit to come to U.T.; especially, 4* or 5* that are highly sought after.
They have many, many options and U.T. isn't necessarily their only top 25 offer.

Dooley mentioned that also in his presser that it was a challenge.

You are wasting your breath. Those on here to complain and are part of the legions of the miserable will never be happy. If we win 8 , it s/b 10. if another assistant leaves, he is hard to get along with, etc. If we will by 24-17 it s/b 44-17.

On a brighter note: Today's deli - VOL Burger w/ everything + fries & a large Coke

You will never get some of these negative people to understand how much they hurt the program with the junk they spew from both ends.

Number 3 that you listed dooley is publicly critical of the players so what's the difference I think more stock is put into what dooley says vs some fan

I'm done with paying attention to what dooley is saying. I really hope we destroy everyone this year. But people will run their mouthes, the results should speak for themselves.

hold up. That does fit the excuse train that our fans are building and destroys the tempo of the kumbaya rendition going on in here.

Our crybabies on this board will never comprehend this. They will just flame away in their emotional fog and call you foolish. They will deny culpability, but reasonable people will know you are right.

The complete Hart quote, for those that missed it originally:

I think this: We’re not young anymore in football. We’re not young anymore. While it is realistic and it is factual to say that we have fielded an inexperienced team the last year or two, we’re not going to field inexperienced teams anymore.

I hope there's no need for excuses this year.

The truth is the truth. Don't hide from it. Freshmen and sophomores playing against juniors and seniors is a recipe for losing. You can complain all you want about when someone makes excuses, but the truth is in those "excuses". I am sure GA, FL and ARK are thanking you for your comments.

Also prior to losing JJ, Bray, Hunter, Lathers, etc.... Shall I go on? No team in the SEC could lose their top 4-5 players and still compete, especially if one of them was the QB. Come on.

Agree, positive thoughts only, like a distant dream, say pull a Majors, go from losing season to conference champions in one year. It could happen if it don't, don't wake me from a pleasant dream.
