Lets assume, just for the sake of argument, that Hamilton will not fire phil no matter how the season turns out. what other changes do you think would need to be made?

Chavis, Slade, Brooks and Caldwell will all be gone. Fulmer will bring in new DC's and put the same product on the field next year.

why not....chavis is making $350,000 now and muschamp is making $425,000

why not offer muschamp $450,000-$500,000 ...make him defensive coordinator and linebacker coach like texas does.....

We could make a good push, but to think that Texas doesn't have our resourses is foolish.

If he does that, it won't be the same product. Could be worse. Could be better. But it won't be the same.

If the $$$ guys want Fulmer gone, Hamilton WILL do it... or else he'll be gone too.

If they don't want him gone then there are no changes that CAN be made no matter how much fans complain and whine... and stupidly boo.

oh i don't doubt texas's resources at all...i am just saying we can outbid them for what they are currently paying him...if they want to keep him they will pony up no doubt

one problem with trying to outbid texas for muschamp is that the OC and DC salaries are usually in lockstep and seniority counts. thus if muschamp were brought for $500k, clawson would probably have to be raised into the same neighborhood.

but when the time comes, i'm all for opening the wallets and paying whatever it takes. a few mil invested in the coaching staff pales in comparison to over $100mil invested in the stadium

that is ridiculous to expect the oc and dc to make the same in all scenarios...muschamp is a proven sec dc...jury still out on clawson

I don't understand why people believe Hamilton is the reason Fulmer won't be fired. Hamilton fired the Basketball coach and baseball coach already. I think they don't want to p.o. the big donors to UT athletics, who may still think Fulmer deserves more time.

Muschamp would not want to board this sinking ship. Clawson is probably regretting his decision.

I wouldn't mind Muschamp at all, but Hat has posted on here before that Stoops maybe available at the end of the year, wouldn't be a bad choice either.

Which Stoops you talking about? The one that is going to get fired from AZ? If so, I assume you are talking about bringing him in for a DC, not a HC right?

Well, fire Hamilton (should anyway) then hire someone with the cajones to fire Fulmer.

In an interview last year (when Fulmer was under fire again after the FL loss) Hamilton said that Fulmer should decide his own fate due to his distinguised service (my paraphrasing). Yes, Fulmer has had some very good years, and he won the big one in '98. But he has become predictable, as has Chavis, and that's one reason they lose the big games. We recruit very good talent, unfortunately the coaching staff is not as talented as it should be. Fulmer is the CEO and he's not meeting stockholder expectations. Hamilton can make that decision but he won't. Plus Hamilton has made some stupid decisions. Such as a years contract extension for 8 wins. Wow! You get another $2.4M if you do 2/3 of your job.

Maybe I should send my resume to Hamilton. I'd love that kind of job!
