... he should immediately take over offensive play-calling duties. The Clawson experiment has failed. The way our offense is playing against Wyoming today, he'll be lucky to find a gig coaching a Pop Warner team in Scranton, PA.

Fulmer took over playcalling in 2005. That resulted in a loss to Vanderbilt. Also, a near loss to pathetic Memphis team that didn't have DeAngelo Williams and was playing a WR at QB.

Phil has been exposed for the coach he is. As long as he has better talent and a good offensive coach he can win but if the talent drops and the OC can't cut it Phil can't win. Some coaches can get more out of lesser talent with good coaching but not Phil

So true..but don't let the Fulmerons hear you say that. I'm starting to think that with a better coach we might have had some more championships in the late 90's, '00, or '01...

Exactly. Fulmer also is not a game coach. He can't adjust if things don't go well in a game. That's one of the big differences between Fulmer and Spurrier.

I completely agree.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I think Phil is a good playcalling coach. I'm just saying that is the only way he has even a prayer of being hired as a head coach somewhere next year. Unless we're talking about Syracuse, Idaho, or North Texas.

Given the way we've performed today, any Fulmer apologist or player that complains about his termination deserves a swift bitch slap.

I think Phil would be a good fit to try to revive Chattanooga. It's still part of the UT system, and they're actually going to have fewer wins than us this season.

He cannot coach. There must be superior talent on the field. All he knows to do is play close to the vest and hope his players can pull it out. Our talent soared when Payton came here because many good ones wanted to play with him. We would have had several more championships under an actual coach such as a Spurrier, Saban, etc.
