If Butch goes 9-4 but those 4 losses are Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M, Bama does he deserve another year? Serious conversation because that's a real possibility based on how offense has played.

I agree with the others that he's not being fired for that record.

My confidence in ever winning a championship? Yeah that would be blown to hello. And it's just not as fun if you don't think you ever have a shot.

I don't like it....but yes.You cannot fire the guy for that winning record no matter how ugly it is. The proof will be in the pudding next year, after he turns over the juniors and seniors and has to start a new QB. Perhaps that will be the impetus for the needed staff changes this off season.

For me those 4 losses means Butch is a mediocre coach who cannot win the big time so no reason to get excited about Tennessee Football

If he goes 9-4 then they require him to fire Mahoney, Azzani and Debord. They also require him to hire a real QB coach.

Yes. But he'll be sitting on a white hot seat going into year 5.

If he goes 9-4 with the four loses over that tough 4 game stretch but makes a bowl and wins he will feel pressure next year but his seat will not be hot. I hate it and if he loses to Florida again this year I'd be ready to let him go but it is what it is. We're finally starting to win on a relatively consistently basis and finish paying off old coaches so I don't think anyone in the AD will be willing to risk another coaching change at the moment.

We will not fire a coach for winning back to back 9 win seasons no matter how much some of you will moan. We haven't had back to back 9 win seasons since 06' and 07' nearly 10 years ago.

Yes, but he will have to win the east next year to keep his job.

He may still be here, but if he has that record against those opponents, I will not have anymore faith in him or his all American staff. I will not have any hope in this football team until he is gone, if he loses those 4 games.

We cannot lose to Florida...I am so sick of hearing the gator fans talk about 11 in a row and already claiming the 12th. I can't take another year of hearing the florida fans every day talk about 12 in a row....I can't do it.

Cross that bridge if we get there.

For me, Butch can go 2-10 and I will welcome him back next year. He knows how to coach.

I don't see how DeBord, Mahoney and Azzanni can make it to next year if that is our record!!! Mahoney really has to go, we need someone who can develop The OLine!!!

I have a lot more questions and concerns now than I had all Summer.

Reality is we're still undefeated and 2-0.

It's been ugly and we got some good luck for a change.

Until I see lots more improvements on the field and solid consistency I'll refuse to speculate and play the guessing games.

Week by week, 1 game at a time and enjoy what still should be, and can become, a special season for us Vols.

WIN by WIN we must earn our respect to climb the rankings...VFL...GBO!!!

Not gonna happen. We will beat Florida and giant monkey will be off the Vols back and free to hop back on to Kentucky where it belongs.
