If Boyd and other dual-threats don't fit our system...

Every time I think about Kiffin letting Boyd go, I throw up a little in my mouth

Boyd is having surgery to repair his ACL and won't play next year anyways, so I see no reason to take a dual threat guy that doesn't fit Kiffin's system. We will get our guy next year. Being honest with recruits will pay us dividends in the long run.

Oh... and GO VOLS

Ugh, I know. How can you be happy with crompton right now.....but it was more the "yes, you're an impressive athlete, and a 5-star recruit, but we have no place for you so you should look elsewhere" part that upsets me the most...

Would you rather have a probable top 5 class with Fulmer or a top 15 class with the new coaches... I think we did a fantastic job considering and I'm glad the program has taken a different direction; we were never going to get back to the top with Fulmer

My money is on Steven's this year. He showed the most leadership last year. And it looks as though he had the strongest asrm.

Everybody who is so high on Tajh Boyd needs to understand this. He needs ACL surgery so he wouldn't play next year any way. If CLK gets a big time QB next year, what are you gonna do with him, move him to receiver? HE doesn't want to play that! Then you have chemistry problems. Tajh Boyd is not the answer for the Vols. The main reason that UT's offense was horrible last year was CPF. Josh Briscoe (CPF's biggest fan) was horrible and the offense had very little balance all year. When Clawson came in they tried to change the offense, it was terrible from the get go, they didn't have the personel to run the "CLAWFENSE". Then waiting until after florida to change it, never allowed the team to gel offensevly. I was at spring practice and it was the worst spring I have seen in years. Crompton, Stephens, and Coleman can be successful, All-American probably not! They don't have to be, just manage the game. IF I recall John Parker Wilson took Bama to the SEC championship game by doing just this. I hate Bama just like everyone else but I would have gladly traded places with them last year, as most of you would have too. Support what we have and forget what we don't have. Let's look forward to a new era of Tennessee Football

GO VOLS!!!!!

Boyd tore his ACL, he's out next year. I heard his coach Dabo Sweeney from Clemson on the radio talking about Redshirt. How would that help us for next year? We would still be stuck with the 3 S### Balls we had this year, so why take a risk on a guy who may never recover from a serious injury.

I think Kiffin wants a whole recruiting year to find his guy. They can't even know what kind of O they are going to run yet. Give it time people GEEZ.

Sorry to repeat the ACL thing enthusiast.:good!:

When I think of dual-threat I think of players like Pat White, Michael Vick, and Vince Young. Clearly, none of our QBs are close to them from an athletic or running stand-point. No team fears Jonathan Crompton, BJ Coleman, or Nick Stephens running out of the pocket so when they scramble it isn't like they've schemed to spy them. To me Kiffin is just interested in finding a player who can make the reads, and make the throws, who won't have happy feet in the pocket to read one or two and then take off. If a kid can make his reads and throws, and still has scrambling or great running capability, I'm sure Kiffin would still be interested in him even with a dual-threat designation.
i.e. Big Ben R.

We all understand the "break a few eggs" saying, but odds are it just adds up to another year of catching up...

also, espn is the only one to call it a top 15 class (At best), the others are calling it a 23-26 rated class which at this point seems more realistic

Espn looks like they do better at class rankings. Because it looks like they look at quality not quantity. They go more buy how many top players you sign not by how many scrubs you will have guarding the water bucket.

I liked stephens last year. Kid has some fire in him and I think would do well. Nothing against Coleman, he may indeed be the answer, but I would like to have seen Stephens play against FL and AU last year. Of course, had he done well, we wouldn't be here talking about who Coach Kiff is playing next year! So, everything worked out to point us in another direction.

Now....what to do until Sept.!
